Meta description is the descripion which appears in SERPs when the website appears in searches. A meaningful description with keyword in it can play a key role in increasing the click through rates but it doesn't have much impact on the organic ranking.

 

Meta description is one of the major factor in On-page SEO. its is appear in the SERP. Google bot compare the users search query with your title, meta data and description. Then its produce the relevant result in the SERP.
