Google is now spying on kids

I dunno what they are going to do with the data. But they are kids and they shouldn't be used for their data research purposes.

Here is what I read on the website:

    Seriously? You're suprised?
If you use Google your behaviour is going to be tracked. They will know your age from your behaviour but not necessarily because you've told them (they think my son is older than he is because I paid them a dollar or something to change his dob when they said he was too young to have an account and we never changed it back).

I think you are right. As Andrew Lewis said: 'If you are not paying for it, you're not the customer; you're the product being sold'

taking advantage of kids is wrong.
but on the other hand, privacy is going to become a thing of the past with technology

A lot of this research is going to likely be used for future "smart" technology. Scary to think of it that way though. We are all watched online. It is the "world wide web" after all.

But the question to ask is: "So what?!?"
What is there to hide? 99% of kids are just looking at porn and scrolling through snapchat and facebook all day long and binge on netflix for 3 hours a day rotting their brains out...:)

If it's of any concern to you then simply switch to Bing. Or are they "spying" on us too?

google is spying on everyone. any engine that collects data at all
certainly will know your darkest secrets before anyone else...

If your intent is harm, then most likely some engine or social site
will know about it before anyone else, most often, already too late
since the sites have the data, and the police get it after the fact....

however, I hate to say, your constantly being tracked, and not just
by google, use a credit card, use your cell phone, pay a bill, unless
you are 100% off the grid, then you are being tracked in some form or fashion...

Even those search engines that claim zero tracking are tracking you...
how can they evaluate their data patterns if they do not? Even if you
think you are invisible, your still be tracked one way or another....
(lets face it, you are not that good, there is always a footprint...)

You are absloutely right all the activities are tracked by site using them. Why all only pitching on Google?? Biggest sour is facebook where you will share everything and hence it's not good. Something that drive business is always the need of these sites. They want to make thier business partners adverstiser happy that's all. Even GOVT org take thier information.

There is no problem about tracking your info, you may disable Google search history / Youtube search history from your gmail account so that even if someone get into your gmail account he won't be able to see them.
You can disable them here : google.com/settings/accounthistory
You can also disable voice search, position tracking and youtube watched videos (even if you disable it on your youtube account, it still show here)

You can browse your Google search history here : history.google.com/history/?hl=fr&ent=r&utm_source=udc

You can browse your Youtube search history here : history.google.com/history/youtube/search?hl=fr&ent=r&utm_source=udc

You can browse your Youtube watched videos here : history.google.com/history/youtube/watch?hl=fr&ent=r&utm_source=udc

It doesn't mean that google won't track you, it's only when you have something to hide from people who you give access to your gmail, Google doesn't really care about what you're doing and who you are, they don't have time to track all internet users, it's an automatic algorithm used generally for ads purposes and in case proofs are needed for a legal process.

Read Google terms about legal process here : https//google.com/transparencyreport/userdatarequests/legalprocess/

This is an official Google video showing how your data is stored and used for a legal process :

I agree with a lot of comments, but as for me, I don’t know what is right! Such things as child pornography, information about suicide or others terrible things, has a big affect for thier mental health! If you have a problems with your teenager such process can solve your problems! But of course, privet life is very important too!

As how I see it, when our kids are too technology dependent and tend to spend more time surfing the net, then, we might have problems about privacy. Because as young as they are, they just fill in the information they're asked to. So, it will also be better if we can orient them that whatever they post/fill in the internet, it will stay there for good and wouldn't give a good result.

I totally agree with @Anusha55. All the website use some hidden secret details of our. So we should be more concern about the facebook and other social media plate forms rather than just Google because they highlight our social life.

This issue has 2 sides. On the one hand private life is very important, but on the other hand there are lots of situations when parents need to know about their children everything. It could help them to avoid make bad things and tragedies.
