Any of you know where I can get free content? I'd like to use this method for creating new pages, ultimately for SEO purposes.
What kind of SERP improvements do you think you're going to achieve with free or cheap crap? I have to fight against cheap SEO companies constantly. They hack people's websites or look for SQL vulnerabilities then inject their sites with backlinks and content. That's basically "free" content. It never improves or helps their own SEO, they often get sandboxed and someone has to fix the site they hacked and believe me, I would much rather re-build a site from the ground up then fix that shit. As for your SEO efforts, create content people want to read and you'll get organic traffic. Research keywords relevant to your site and target them.
Do you plan on making money with it? Then it may be a better idea to pay for the content to insure it's not duplicated elsewhere.
sure, the very same place I get free groceries... Fairy land.... You can setup an RSS feed for free content, and there is no magic here as some of it may get indexed or low rankings, and others will be ignored altogether, then you end up rewriting it anyways. Rss is good to populate your site, but from that point, you should be adding your own content.... then when you get enough content, then start removing the previous rss content/posts... not all duplicate content is bad, however, if you are trying to brand yourself, or for good seo, then using someone elses content is probably not the best road to take.... these days, it takes a lot of traction in order to get a site moving. I just read a post from an affiliate that says he invested around $1,000 on his site, and it took him nearly a year to start earning around $50/mo. I have have no doubt that he will reap some rewards in the future, but look at how much money, effort and time that he must have put into his site to just reach a few dollars per month, and do you really think he would have gotten this far using duplicate content? Running any startup site for profit takes more money/work then most can even imagine, and the more skill that person has will be better off in their favor....
You need to search for websites, which are currently shut down and was sharing relevant content. This can help your to take their content and share on your website with doing some changes on content. Before publishing check for duplicacy.
Who has time for that nonsense. Easier to just research and write new content. The problem with so many sites is that they have nothing new or different to say. They need to innovate but in order to do so they need to have expertise in the topic - and they don't
back in the day...i use to get cheap content (not free) ...create subdomains, a good handful of them with keyword subdomains and backlink to the site. it helped. certain methods work, certain don't. i think all methods are correct but depending on the market, niche, zone etc etc...some work, some don't. it can be unreadable (almost) content and can still work. who told you it doesn't? i've seen it work. links > content. ....fresh content > readable content. there's no cut and dry, black and white here folks...i've been in this game long enough to know. for the market i'm going after, i just realized content isn't the way to go. so i won't be needing it.
You can use the Dragon Dictator iPhone app and record youtube video's. #1 I then record the bits and pieces of information I love, and #2 send the scripts in 4-5 segments to my email. #3 Then I copy and paste onto a document and #4 edit for about 15 minutes. Then Vua-La you have free content to some extent. Enjoy!
PLR content used to be very popular. It's not free but it's fairly inexpensive. But it's pretty pointless, since you need to rewrite the content anyway.
