    I am just curious to know what are the top niches for websites which results in higher earnings? what all niche sites you have and based on your experience which is good and has higher earning rates and visitors?

    A top niche for one is not a top niche for another. You shouldn't choose niches due to a strangers claim that you will make money. You will make your most money in an area that you have the most knowledge, passion and drive.

    The best way to find a profitable niche for you is to examine your interest, strengths and own personal background. Pat Flynn came up with an excellent way to find a new niche for his project that he refers to as "7 7 7" where you look at 7 passions, 7 problems and 7 fears. You then start researching and looking for income opportunities / potential for the various ideas you've committed to paper.

    If you select a niche that you are not interested in, you're not going to be passionate about it. This process helps in my opinion.

    Agree with Suckerpunch. Its a fail for a lot of people who pick a niche that they are not really passionate about and after a few weeks get bored with mantaining the content and site.

    You can make money in any niche if you are dedicated and provide value in the service/products you are selling. But definitely, you will need to shortlist niches that you are most interested in and have knowledge about. Then make a call based on demand and ease of operations in the beginning. Many things depends on how much time you can invest to your business. A lot of research articles online on how to pickup a niche.

    Your question should really be about the top niches for newcomers

    There will be few niches that don't have existing sites in there. Some will be poorly catered for and those are the ones you want to target - and then, only if you have a passion for the subject. Don't be afraid to be really specific, a small niche done really well will out-perform a larger site that struggles.
