How do I promote my site locally specific country(France).

What is local SEO, is it differ from General SEO?

Please advise what are steps for Local SEO? From where we have to start, means first step to last step.
(Local listing; classified, directory, Blog, bookmarking, Article, Press release, Forum, Web 2.0, RSS and Twitter; Facebook, and LinkedIn)

Please advise urgently; After Google panda every one has been confused, Any Techniques for Local SEO or promote specially in Dubai and France.

 

One thing i can suggest is to set the Geo-location in your Google webmasters account to your choice of country, i.e. France in your case. This way the overall traffic may drop little bit but can help in getting more organic traffic from that specific region.

From my suggestive you have to use geography meta using your target market area. It will be help for you.

 

Firstly via google webmasters set the geography as per your requirement. Secondly while promoting sites on classifieds select classified that are region specific. While submitting in directories, they provide option where you can submit the site to a specific geography. While working on On page i.e meta tags, anchor text, keyword analysis select region specific keywords.. In your case keyword with France or specific regions in france.

Add a few articles in the language of the country you want to target and get back links from sites in that country

While off page optimisation is necessary, you also shouldn't forget to optimise your own website pages. Aside from SEO, you can also try social media marketing (esp. Facebook) because it has features that will allow you to target specific countries.

 

If you want to get traffic from specific region, then you have to up in their location specific search engine. You have to make a strategy for SEO and target the audience in that region only. Even you do classified ad and you may do specified location oriented directory listing. And finally the location of your web host also plays the major role in the search result of search engine. So that try to host your website at the place from where you want to have the visitors to your website
