    Belated welcome aboard! All four of my grandparents emigrated from Portugal to the U.S. many years ago and I have even visited there once decades ago. I hope that you enjoy DP as much as I do.

    No, they were from over the mountains near the Spanish border. Some family comes from near Chaves and others come from a small town called Travasos da Cha near Montalegre. May not have spelled those towns exactly right. Where in Portugal are you from?
