There is no need to go to Image Ready. You can slice your .psd file in photoshop with slice tool. There is a Option "File>Save for web", with this option all selected slices will be saved in images folder either in .gif or .jpeg as for your choice. To convert your design into html you need to plan first. Go through some Html & Css tutorial available on net. You can use notepad to make html pages. I take help of Dreamweaver (Software) to Design Web Pages.

Best solution for you - hire a HTML Coder.. it's really not such a big expense...

You may "slice" your design in PS and simply "save for web" but.. results won't be very "good"..

Look at it in this way:

You may buy "instant cookies" - just add some water and bake them.. they may look good, but surely won't be SO tasty as those made (from scratch) by yourself..

The same goes for webpages - "created via PhotoShop" will (probably) work, but not as good as you might want them to...

To be honest, if you think you are going to do that, you really shouldnt.

I started off with "slicing" my layouts. They all turned out horribly bad, and people lost interest very quickly.

For $5, you can get someone to code your layout in XHTML and CSS. In my opinion, its the best way. ~"Slicing" and Table layouts are just a nightmare.

If you want to do it yourself, start by learning Basic HTML Table Coding. Then progress to CSS, and then XHTML.

    Really, learn while your younger.

I agree with you. Without basic knowledge HTML tags it is very difficult to get the right page layout. Imageready can generate html pages, but to read and modify the output basic understanding of html tags is essential.

I think even with the basic knowledge, they arnt the easiest things to get your head around, when slicing.

If you do it manually, it becomes much easier. I can now code a layout from scratch in XHTML and CSS in around 30 mins, including any CSS hacks for IE

    Painful but true :)
JSC - seriously - can you "get me" a good quality coding for ~$5? of course - everything depends on the project, but can't imagine one _as_ simple..

:) great - could you please show me some of your works :) ?
can you PM me some sample urls..
I might have some jobs for you, IF your works are at good-quality..
