    I know there are multiple ways to monetize websites/blogs. But I'm asking specifically to News website, which method will be suitable for Online Newspaper website for monetization.
    Website has following characteristics;
    • Mainly Traffic from Pakistan and India.
    • Covered National and International Beats.
    • An Awesome social media presence.
    Waiting for your bright minded suggestions. :)

    To Give a chance to the reader to comment in a news you posted. You may ask for Vote to the reader about any current topic. You can provide the job circular to the reader. I thing all of these will increase you visitor.

    Hello! A publicity contract with some local companies would be an option. Since you say your readers are mostly from Pakistan, than a local product will be advertised very well on your site. Good luck!

    The trend in Sweden (where I live) is opposite. At least to the traditional news papers.
    They lock articles and more and more demand subscriptions.

    They have different approach. One paper let there be 20 or 30 free views per moth. Another recently made a limit for each week.

    However, these are traditional news papers going on the web. They have journalists and a great infrastructure...
    It's not the same as you look at. But I worry that the desire to pay you for adverts and/or pay for subscriptions may not be the greatest... Unless there is a good reason, meaning a good and quality service.

    But at the other hand, there is only one way to find out!

    People who go to news sites, like to read serious stuff: they like to sound authoritative to their friends and relatives so they buy a lot of books that give them the intellectual edge. Book sales on subjects that are prominent content pieces on your site.

    News sites attract visitors. The more visitors you have, the more money you can charge for advertising. Newspapers (traditional ones) made their money via ad sales more so that subscriptions. With enough traffic you can charge thousands per space.
