I know one about name. The name ‘Google’ was an accident. A spelling mistake made by the original founders who thought they were going for ‘Googol’.

Google has found GPA's and test scores to be "worthless as criteria for hiring"; they have teams where 14% of their employees haven't gone to college.

A truth about the simple homepage of Google, it is because the Google's co-founder Sergey Brin and Lary Page know nothing about HTML programming technology.:mad::mad::mad:

Some kids are so clearly brilliant that they're picked up straight from school. Why waste time at college when they have already proven themselves?

    In their dreams!
Who wouldn't want to be so brilliant that companies were clamouring to employ you straight from school?
The reality is that few kids have the drive to show what they can do while still at high school. Most do their school work, sometimes excel, but never do any more than is necessary. You'll only be one of the 14% if you've followed your passions.

I was chatting to a 14yo recently who had over 200 apps published, mostly for clients - and he was going to a regular school and keeping up with schoolwork etc. He's the kind of kid who won't make it to college but will be snared by a big corporate. And good on him. He could have been watching rubbish on television, hanging out with his mates etc but his passions pulled him in a different direction.

Being dedicated and gifted are two different terms....
you can be dedicated, and work hard all your life and still
not get very far, whereas if you are gifted then you have a choice...
Sit in your moms basement playing video games, or playing
video games for the top gaming companies....

Going to college does not make you dedicated or smart, it just
means you can do the course work that has been assigned, and
still does not guarantee you any level of success...however if you are
gifted, and not lazy, then you certainly have a better chance of
beating out a lot of people that did go to college...

It is no surprise to hear that gifted people get hired by the top
companies such as google, and certainly makes college applicants cringe.

Google shows fewer ads on its homepage than its competitors, Bing and Yahoo. The ads Google shows are more related to its users’ interests. Displaying fewer ads gives Google an advantage over Yahoo and Bing because its pages are easier to read.

Hardly any users perform Google searches with the "I'm feeling lucky" option. However, tests revealed that removing this feature led to a decreased user satisfaction.
