The main problem here was caused by the fact that that you posted an advert for a new site and used stats from a now dead site, claiming they were from the new site. That is dishonest. You then claimed that the new site was a "follow on" from the old site and that the traffic transfered to the new site, when in reality what happened was that you simply started using the same advertising and buying traffic method on the new site as the old, claiming that the traffic came from the old site. That was also dishonest.

On top of that you are a premium member. The main reason to become a premium member is if you want to advertise in the porn section, or link trades, or similar. Your site is not porn, this is not a link trade. However there is another reason to take out premium membership. That is to circumvent the "trusted member" state. To post sales on this forum you either need to be a trusted member of the board with a certain number of likes, or you can to buy respectability with a premium membership. Looking at your stats, you don't have a single like, you do not have trusted status, you had to obtain your status by buying it. Normally there is no problem with that. The board organisers need to pay hosting costs etc.. But when you combine it with the points I made in the first paragraph it looks decidedly dodgy.

If you had started this thread honestly by saying something like "Advertising for sale on a new humour/satire website. No figures yet, but in the past I have got good traffic buying hits via Facebook, and I am using the same technique here, so I expect similar good results." Then there would have been no problem. You would probably have sold your ad space, no one would have complained about your post, and no one would have noticed your premium status (well unless you had shouted it in a post, as you did this time). Everyone would be happy, including you.

But you didn't. You came here shouting in your first line about "16 Million pageviews". Not only are page views no bloody use as a measure (they could be a million surfers, each looking at a 16 articles, or one surfer with a "hit bot" repeatedly hitting your site - 16 million times), they are even of less use when they are FOR A TOTALLY DIFFERENT SITE ENTIRELY!

Basically the lesson you need to take from this is: "Honesty sells, bull**** walks!"

It's not like I don't have any grounds to assume the same traffic for my new will follow that of my first site - with half a million visitors in less than a week, It's basically at exactly the same level as before. And guess what? when I first made this post, I was still active on the initial page and was talking about ITS traffic - but the problem with my Adsense had already started messing things up so I made the new site and tried to salvage what I had. When that had been done, I presented that fact in a reply to someone and did not try to hide it like you claim

I am new to this site, I signed up two weeks ago and as I understood it, you needed a premium membership to post in the buy/sell section. That's why I bought it, not to try to dupe people or whatever you're implying. Christ you're grasping at straws at this point, coming up with strange theories as to how I present myself. A minute ago you didn't believe in my stats, I take it you do now, but I can tell your resolve is not slackening anytime soon because when you realized that you were wrong, you had to attack another part of my post to not appear like an idiot.

As to the "shouting" about pageviews, I simply stated the pageviews that I've had to give you guys an idea of the size of the site. I am very new to all this and I thought pageviews was the metric with which you talked about your site.

As a matter of fact I've had two offers and I'm currently honing in on one in particular with great CPM.

Let's make one thing clear, I absolutely believe your stats.

    That was never in question.

However, what I don't believe is that those stats are real, converting humans.

I think that even if your "traffic" is real, they are not being presold and don't care about the content on your site.

This makes it a bad combination for private advertising.

I have one HUGE problem with your website.

WHY ON EARTH are you going through all of the trouble finding private advertising when you can do A/B testing with affiliate products and make 1000% more AUTOMATICALLY!?!

    It's like you're asking for a headache.

There is only one reason I can think of... you can't convert.

Selling private advertising takes the conversion risk away from you and puts it on the advertiser.

You make your money up front and they are left penniless and conversionless.

All in all, the ONLY thing I am saying is that you need to PROVE that your traffic can convert. Can you do that?

Your response is going to be: I can show ad clicks!

    That doesn't count!

Ad clicks can be faked - I WANT SALES! MONEY! CASH! THE TRANSFER OF GOODS!

    Can you show me that??!!

Man I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to the British gentleman. Thank you for your tips on selling Affiliate products, I haven't considered really considered that seeing as my site is not a niche site. How would I go about doing that that? Do you mean contacting some humorous tshirt company and making a deal with them or something like that? I am very new to all this.

I know you weren't talking to me but I figured it was implied to me as well.

May I ask how you are currently making your 10k per month?

The easiest way to do it is by signing up with ShareASale.com, and choosing a few humor-type companies to promote.

Each company offers their own commission, and ShareASale manages the transactions - they also offer top-notch analytics.

I don't mind offering help, but it would probably be best to start a fresh thread in the proper forum.

Jesus Christ, look at that bounce rate. People don't spent more than 27 seconds on average viewing your website.

Nothing to be jealous about it. From what I see, you are wasting your own money. Yea you get shares, but for nothing. The website content value isn't worth it and people won't revisit.

    Let's get things straight ok?
You have some money, wrote a bunch of articles, launched a quick website ( that looks terrible by the way ) and started to buy cheap traffic from all kind of sources but mainly Facebook. Now you come here pretending you are a marketing guru and we all are new-born.

And when we start asking questions and stating the obvious, you lose your temper like a child when his parents tell him " grow up ".

Now to state a maybe too obvious thing : no person with a sense of investment whatsoever will buy your golden wrapped nothing. I wouldn't pay $ 20 for that. In fact, I have doubts I would take it for free.

With $ 1000 I can get REAL targeted traffic to a lead page and make some nice cash . Or if I really want to be a webmaster, I'd find valuable websites for that amount. Case closed.

It doesn't take that long to read an article man. Please tell me about your wonderful SEO site where people stay for 15 minutes and which gets 700 unique visitors a month? Wat the hell do you mean WASTING my own money? I still live with my parents and make more money from doing this than I could ever have dreamed of 2 years ago (I am about to move out, before you slam me on that). I literally spend 5-20 dollars a day to drive traffic on Facebook, I DON'T BUY TRAFFIC FROM ANYWHERE ELSE. And by driving traffic on Facebook, I don't even mean promoting my website url for clicks, all I do is promote the POSTS and let viral magic work on its own. Why is it so hard to understand?

And what in the world do you mean by Yeah you get shares but for nothing? Shares mean more traffic and more ad revenue you absolute numpty.

Of course I get agitated when a bunch of people accuse me of buying fake traffic - being so unable to fathom my stats that you actively try to call me a liar shows that you've never even been close to any high traffic.

I don't claim to be a guru, but I feel like a lot of this hostility comes from a place of being stuck in the same wheel rut, making the same old microblogs with unoriginal content, then using SEO techniques from 2005 to try to get them to rank high in search engines. Look at the success of LADBIBLE, UNILAD and other social media publications, I guess they're also dishonest and don't get "real traffic".

So you make $10,000 per month on ad clicks from a humor/satire/news website?

    What is the average CPC?

What would you make this cash from? Affiliate products? I am not doing any of that, I am solely doing content recommendations and adsense.

Average CPC 0.25 USD for adsense, but I make the majority of the money from content recommendations, I can get as high as 3-5 USD CPM sometimes with RevContent, much higher than Taboola

Now that would be something that would convince private advertisers to work with you.

I am guessing these networks have CTR/Impression analytics? Would be interesting to see.

The problem is not what you assumed, the problem is that you misrepresented the facts. You stated that your site got 16 million pageviews, when in fact another site of yours got this. You inferred the site had been running since January, and it was not until you were pulled up by your Whois records that you came clean. IE you were proved a liar, THEN you admitted the facts. That is the problem here. No one has any desire to pull your site apart, or your hard work. The problem is that you came here and threw some money around to buy a premium membership, and decided that entitled you to lie to people to get their money. It does not.

WRT: "A minute ago you didn't believe in my stats, I take it you do now" I always believed the stats - I merely said that from your claims they appear to be "paid to click" hits or bot clicks, neither of which are worth a penny to an advertiser. I still believe that!

Oh and: 27 seconds is not long enough to read an article, but it is long enough to guarantee payment for a "paid to click" clicker. We are not interested in the fact that you still live with your mum and dad, that does not get you sympathy. And really we don't care about your boasts and claims. All we want is honest facts, a thing you appear not to know the meaning of!

Now if you were a grown up, what you would have done long ago would have been a mea culpa. You would have admitted your error, apologised for it, promised not to pull stuff like this again, and moved on. But you don't have the balls to do that. Instead you find yourself at the bottom of a big hole you dug yourself and you keep on digging.

My advice to you is this: You say you still live with your parents, well show them this thread and get them to explain what an adult should do!

Why is it so INCREDIBLY IMPOSSIBLE in your mind that my traffic is genuine, social media traffic and not the work of some phoney bot click? I didn't think that my numbers were THAT remarkable to the extent that you can't even CONCEIVE of such traffic being possible. It's flattering that you're so impressed, but I'm sorry to burst your bubble, it really is no miracle.

I can't believe you actually think I've somehow gotten millions of people to come to my site and paid them to click in such a way that it renders a normal CTR without each of one of them having any idea whether the others click or not. Are you implying that I have an army of literally millions of people (70 percent of them from the US, and UK mind you) under my command who I coordinate to click in a way that renders natural reports? That, apart from sounding impossible, sounds INCREDIBLY costly so to what avail would I try to sell adspace? Chaf'st thine tinfoil-hat?

Sometimes the explanation for something is the simplest. My content drives a lot of engagement and shares which in turn, renders me revenue from people who click on ads that they click with the intent to learn more about what is being advertised (not because I forced them to).

I told you about living at home because I wanted to give you an idea of where I am in life and why I'm exploring various options to find what best fits my sites.

"Threw some money around?" It cost me like 25 bucks for a membership, you must be going through a hard time if you think that qualifies as somehow flaunting ones money. Perhaps I could gift you a small sum if you're in some dire straits my Anglo friend? just to alleviate things until your next 30 GBP check comes from your twenty SEOsites about gardening and womens' basketball.

There's no hole, I've already had 3 offers and I'm running tests with one of them. While you're whining and talking about my balls, others have seen potential in my traffic, whichever site it may be on. Advertisers want eyeballs on their ads, I have a track recording of providing that why would anyone pass up on that. With me you can get hundreds of thousans of impressions much cheaper than at the big sites with 100's of employees.

I'll show my parents the CPM of the offers I've gotten and I think they will approve.

Can you not get it through your head that the main problem is not how you got the traffic but the fact that you LIED in your first post. You are a con man who stated the stats for one site, claiming them to be the stats for a new site in order to con people out of money. In other words you are a crook, plain and simple.

When caught (as you were by someone else, many posts ago) the manly thing to do is to 'fess up, apologize and move on. But you are not a man, you don't have the balls to do this. Being someone who was late to leave the nest myself, I am loathed to bring up the fact that you still live with your parents. However the fact that you are not adult enough to apologize for what you did and learn from this experience, kinda links with the fact that you still live with your mummy and daddy.

As to your "army of clickers"! It does not make you clever. All you need to have done to get that traffic is pay money to one of the many companies who do this for you. It is not difficult. You boast about your earnings and about paying $25 a month for premium membership. Well another $25 a month spent on eBay would have got you enough auto bot hits to show the statistics you boast. And it is not difficult. My nine year old nephew could do it on his father's laptop while watching cartoons on TV, so no I don't think you are clever.

What I do think you are is a pathetic little con man who does not even have the courage to admit it, and apologize, when caught lying.

Boy, your parents must be so proud!!!!!!!!!!

Do you really need proof? He basically asks "Clicks from my site don't make much money, why?" Then argues when some helpful person tells him why! Sort of gives us all the information we need about the quality of the traffic he is selling.

After arguing with the person who tried to help him he does not bother thanking them. Instead, after being told his site will not pay well for 6 to 12 months because of the junk traffic he buys, he gets himself a premium membership and tries to sell the ad space to some poor sucker here!

Well, in the other thread he says $20 a day, which in a 31 week month would be $720. Which, by my reckoning, is a little shy of $10K.

Don't worry the CPC has gone up again, it was just temporarily ridiculously low, I'm back on track m8. And besides, Adsense isn't my biggest source of income, content recommendation is.

Sorry I'm new to this, what do you mean by conversion analytics?

But wait a second...why would I be worried about CPC if I'm using a bot? Wouldn't I have control of that?
