    I have read some points about local places update 7pack to 3pack but not clear exactly what is that and how need to handle can you, please explain in details and share points.

    The main point is simple. Earlier it was enough to be the 7th in the local list. And now to show up in Google's 3pack you should the 3rd at least. More hard work to get the result.

    Shawn, do a search for "Shoes in California" or something like that, at the top should be the 3 pack.

    This used to be a pack of 7, so the importance of being in the top 3 is higher. Although if your site has reviews then that can sway people to click on your website rather than others, you can see a heatmap study of the 3pack here: https://moz.com/blog/the-new-snack-pack-where-users-clicking-how-you-can-win - there are interviews with people at the bottom where they explain how powerful reviews are in this situation.
