Starting a new affiliate network: What would you like as an affiliate?

Hello Folks,

We are on the way to start a new affiliate network.

We are planning on providing no minimum weekly payout (Paypal);
Various payout means;
dedicated account manager, no matter how small is your turnover,
A pletora of merchants/advertisers.

What else would you like to see?
What do you think is something that make you think, "Wow I want to join this network"?

I would like to see an affiliate network that pays affiliates for getting other affiliates to join the program. As in 5% - 10% of the earnings of an affiliate you refer for life. Second tier I believe it is referred to.

 

I run an affiliate program myself, but as a user I always appreciate when an affiliate network doesn't have too much of a fine print. It's ridiculous what some networks come up with to "protect" their advertisers. Something like: "If the visitor doesn't stay on the site for more than a minute - you won't get paid". Or "The conversion was invalid because it originated from the wrong country". Why in the world would I be driving traffic to any site to NOT get paid? It seems like there are ALWAYS caveats for why the affiliates will NOT get paid. When I see an affiliate marketing program that has one too many negatives in their terms of use, I just skip it.

 

@billzo, Nice idea, we will surely add it to our network. I don't know if our margins will allow for a 10% cut, but for sure we will offer at least 5%.
Maybe it would even better to offer a scalable ref commission.
For example, if you refer affiliates who make over $XXX totally on a monthly basis, you should deserve a cut bigger than 5%.

@qwikad.com, I'm totally with you on this. As an affiliate for many years, "The conversion was invalid because it originated from the wrong country" is something that I can't stand at all. A sale is a sale, PERIOD.
I can only understand if your website don't deliver to that country, or if it is a CPC affiliate who is paying for clicks from a targeted country they want to promote to, but otherwise no excuse at all.
Or another one is when they say you get a commission only if your ref buy in the same session...f**k that really.
I can understand if they want to put a 30-day cookie limit, but in-session cookie life is pure stealing to get free traffic.

 

you can add 2 payment method:
1) Paypal for USA & Europe, 2) webmoney or okpay for Asian guys.

I like choosing opportunities where proven tested resources are available. If I get to them early enough they work ok and then I have something to build and customize off of to test new ones.

From my perspective, I think the most significant factor relates to the uniqueness of the merchants. What makes your program, and the merchants I'd be advertising, special? If you can deliver some sort of special value in this area, that's enough for me!

Just as an example....a high-volume, high-margin, recurring service with recurring commissions would be very attractive. I am sure others can share their own ideas, as well.

on time payment

These 3 steps attract all publishers to signup and work with....

 

Include Payoneer as one of your payment methods and that would be a definite plus for me.

 

make it easy to join for beginners . provide some material to start as affiliate, like some affiliate ideas and articles.

As a new merchant, the quality of publisher is the most important thing to us. We have about 80 publishers until now after we create the account. But many of them do not run our product. So the quality is important to us.

 

You need offer some incentive each month to inspire to generate traffic.
There is much more competition now a days and everyone offer best.
So if you want stay in marketing you need offer extra perks.

offer the incentive to publisher? or more good deals to promote sales?

From Sep 1th to 22th, our website total have 50 salds now, but just 1 sales from SAS(we create the account on 25th Aug).
You are right. We need offer more incentive to inspire the publishers.
After finish the built of mobile marketing, we will offer more deals and coupons to customers next month. Hope we can get better sale.

 

To me, a good affiliate network needs to offer the following in the easiest, simplest form:
1)creative material - logos, ads, etc
2)accurate, easy to understand tracking reports
3)support importing of all reports via csv file
4)extremely clear and consistent payment process/schedule

Other than that, try to recruit some exciting merchants with good products and the rest will take care of itself.

 

Don't shave leads and have Skrill and OKPay as payout methods.

Don't put the minimum payout too high, about $25 is fine.

Try to get as many high paying CPA offers as possible and not those survey offers with a billion pages.

Tell your users when the offer converts. For example "email submit" means it will convert on email submit and not a 10 page survey.

 

Campaigns. I know it's hard, but try to get exclusively ones, else it's just another network with higher payout and such. Hope it works out for you!
