    Adsense is a garbage unless you get thousands of visitors per day. Key factor is the traffic to site and CTR. Not the CPC.
    Let's say you have a casino blog which gets only 10 visitors per day, avg CTR is 10% and avg CPC is $70. So you rarely earn up to $70 per day. You have a high probability of not earning even a penny per day.
    You have a travel blog which gets 1000 visits per day, avg CTR is 8% and avg. CPC is $1. You can earn up to $80 per day. You have a good probability to earn at least $1 per day.
    Practically casino related searches are significantly lower than travel related searches and you won't get a higher CPC like $70 when it comes to ads shown in publisher sites because those high prices are set for predominantly for ads shown in Google search engine results. I don't think publishers will get even $30 per valid click.
    So finally revenue mainly depends on site's traffic and CTR.

    I used to own about a dozen local sites, tourists were the audience, anyone looking to learn about the city the site was based on and find things to do. Kind of like a TripAdvisor, Yelp, but not an actual directory. Anyways, within the first month almost half of these sites were getting clicks, enough to get a payout after two months.. unfortunately, I sold the sites. But, I think this is proof that some niches can make money with Adsense quickly, even with low traffic. I believe the audience was really looking for something though, so the Adsense ads actually took them somewhere they wanted to go, like a hotel or something.

    You should do a keyword research. You have to find the most profitable keyword. Most important that you have to get huge amount of traffic. It is the most important.

    Might sound crazy, but I'd say it's a niche/industry you're passionate about. All the years of success I've had with adsense was the result of a website that had plenty of GOOD/USEFUL content. That's why I always suggest sticking with a topic/content you know well and are passionate about. Doing that will make sure you continue to get more and more visitors, which makes your adsense revenue naturally increase; and it can happen rather quickly. Just my $0.02.
