Branding advice: Which name use as main domain, plural or singular?

    Dear all,

    I'm launching a new fashion blog in Brazil called Fashion Style. It's a business based on the clothing dressed by famous TV series stars.

    I have both names fashionstyle.com.br and fashionstyles.com.br, however, I'm looking for some advice to choose which one is the best.

    Right now, I chose the singular name because of there are more searches related to this term. And the plural is just being redirected to the main domain.

    Moreover, some people told me that the plural name sounds more brandable.

    I want to hear your feedback. What would you use and why?

    Most marketers would look at the actual brand name they have, so what is the brand you want to create. Also look at the future of the company you want to build, like there was this company called mobile advertising system, once they wanted to get into online ads as well they had to change the name,.

    @masthan_8 / @Anas Asif ,
    I appreciate your feedback. I also believe that sounds more fashionable.

    @Mehdi.b,
    Look at the future is a good advice to build a long term brand.

    Since you've started with the singular name, maintain it. Considering that it's also the name of your brand, ditch the plural form. It's not about what sounds better, it's about maintaining a brand.

    Good thinking on purchasing the plural domain though :)

    My advice is to buy both and build your website on the singular form one and use the plural form one to redirect to the singular form one. In this case, even if your visitors make a typo, they'll still be redirected to your website.

    I like the singular domain name. Sounds more concise, for lack of a better word.

    Thank you for letting me share.

    Singular all the way. First of all that is the actual name of your blog so I don't think its smart to have a different name, even by one letter, for the domain.

    Yup, totally singular. This not only sounds better, but is also easier to remember, which is one of the most important things when thinking about your domain name to use. Good luck! I guess you already have an answer from all of these replies.
