    Hey guys,

I am starting a new forum and wanted to know what's the best script out there: Vbulletin, php, etc. I eventually want to bring in adsense and banners. I prefer free but I pay if need be.

    Thanks in advance,

If you're looking for paid software: vBulletin

In that case if you would choose free software: MyBB, phpBB

However if you are a newbie in this area I suggest you to choose MyBB because its secure enough.

These two are the best according to me.
    Free Script: SMF
    Paid Script: Vbulletin

I recommend Vbulletin, as it is more SEO friendly.

IPB definitely the best. If you like to give out some best forum then go for IPB.

Yup Vbulletin is the best one and one of the oldest ones.
If you are starting a wordpress project then you will get more options in form of plugins, but if its a standalone forum then blindly go for Vbulletin

If you have money to spend on a paid software, I would recommend getting Xenforo. Works great and has many engaging features for you and your members.

I'd recommend XenForo too - maybe not as feature rich as vB and IPB, but very user friendly and easy to manage from an admin perspective.

They all have demo's though so I'd recommend you give each of them a try and see for yourself. :D

I would also recommend Xenforo. I have recently switched to it and while I agree with others, it's not as feature rich as other forum software, the features it does have are very clean and high quality.

You can find forum demos here.
I would recommend vBulletin [paid] or Mybb, phpBB [this two are free].
