    Hello,
I need ideas to market to a file hosting website. Its in beta stage at the moment. The plan is to get it ready in a couple of weeks and release it.
Im contemplating using affiliate marketing. I read and hear a lot of different kinds of internet marketing methods, which sometimes tend to be too much information. I would like people here to share ideas on the marketing techniques for a new website.

Thanks for reading and would like to hear from you.

Develop an affiliate program, users get comission when people buy a premium account for your host via their referral link.

Also, do the usual Banner ads + PopUnder / PopUp stuff.

Affiliate program might work but it would be good to have some more details of what you do and what is the product/service.
If you are referring just to file sharing and hosting then you are competing with some giants and need to realize that it will be tough.

To market it, you need to find you correct target market because it is somehow specialised product and not an everyday service you see.
Get into social media and try to get it into colleges and universities through emails, flyers or advertising on facebook groups with majority students
as group members. Those Facebook pages are cheap to advertise on and work with though.
