This is absolutely correct. (Although, most of us don't want to admit that.)

    Very moving video though.

I don't think it does, or to be more specific - if you can't appreciate life without money, you can't appreciate it with money. But I do believe that money gives you freedom for experiences and security you otherwise wouldn't have had. Up to the point of $75,000/year, after that threshold research says that more money doesn't bring you proportionally more happiness (source).

    Great video.

Yes, I recall reading somewhere that the more money people have, the happier they are up to the point of where their standard of living equals that of those around them. The article stated that once the amount of money increased beyond that level, the "happiness factor" diminished. So, what this basically means is that all you who seek a Lamborghini as a path to happiness are in for a surprise when you eventually get it if your neighbors drive Volkeswagen Beetles!

Exactly (by the way, my source fell out, but it was an INC article so legit)! And it makes sense, too - this is a wild guess, but I would think that some of it has to do with the fact that your feeling of striving for something diminishes. Humans are survivors and if you don't have to "do that much" to cover for basic needs, such as food and shelter, the pride/sense of goal achievement you take in achieving those things diminishes. However, I don't think that e.g. all millionaires are unhappy - they probably have a system of creating goals that give the same sense of happiness as when you're trying to cover for basic needs. Hope that makes sense! :)

Money can help you do things that make you feel good - feel happy- Money lets you do things for others and that is a great way to be/feel happy. Just look at it like this. If you took everyone's money away from them, they would probably be VERY UNHAPPY.

My belief from personal experience as well as observations is that money CAN NOT buy happiness. It can however help remove some stress, free up some time and contribute in other ways to make finding happiness easier.

If you are always working just to keep up with your bills, expenses, etc. because you must, then you will have less time to find and enjoy true happiness.

So, money won't buy happiness, but it will make it easier to find, enjoy and keep. IMHO

And this is probably how I'll end up proposing to my girlfriend.

But before I do that, I need to find one first.

You are gonna propose to your future girlfriend by buying her a Pizza?

That's a great idea, I never thought of that. What girl doesn't like pizza? ;)

Yes. After all, you're happier if you're full after a few slices of pizza... and if you're happy, the chances of saying "yes" is always sky high :D

Money may not be able to buy happiness but it can buy you things and experiences which are able to give temporary happiness.

You're dead for a real long time, you just can't prevent it...
So if money can't buy happiness, I guess I'll have to rent it!

Money isn't everything but the lack of it is!

That's a fairly well known saying that only those who have experienced poverty or have been broke can truly grok.

Money can’t buy happiness, but it will certainly get you a better class of memories.
