How do you monetize your website?

Ran across this blog post that goes into great detail about revenue models and adjusting revenue models to fit the purpose of the website and vice versa. So I was wondering, what kind of website do you operate, what is your monetization strategy, and why did you choose it?

 

Most webmasters monetize their site through google adsense except those who have adult sites.

 

but why?

 

I know many developers monetize their IOS, Mac or Android, windows apps via displaying Ads. So it would be the same theory or strategy to monetize a webiste. If your webiste has many visitors, here, I refer to organic or non-organic users, traffic, etc, many advertisers could rush to display their Ads on your site to get more organic users from you as well. More users/traffic your site has, easier for your site to monetize.

 

To monetize website you should display advertising, affiliate marketing, lead generation and email marketing.

 

i own about 18 sites.. all niches.. to monetize i use affiliate partners.

 

use google analytic or similar (alexa)

 

AdSense gave me the boot a few months ago. Entire account got suspended (My fault though)

Most of my sites are already ecommerce type stores so I make money from them without having to rely on adsense anyway. I just monetize with my HostGator affiliate banner or these little "Win a Free iPhone" offers now... Doesn't pay off as good as adsense though ;/

 

I generate revenue via:
- Ads (Sovrn)
- Patreon
- Store sales (physical stuff posted)
- Kickstarter

 

Try selling "something" that really sells online!
Every form of selling is better than placing ads..

 

There are a lot of ways to monetize a website. Affiliate programs and CPA offers are some of the ways to do it, but I think that whatever you decide to do it should be relevant to your niche. That'll most likely get you the best results.

 

I have a lot of websites covering many different fields/areas. Some of them use AdSense and some use affiliate ads that are related to what the site is about.

I test out different monetization methods and see what works best for each site, then I fine tune it to get the most earnings from the monetization methods I am using on that particular site.

Affiliate Marketing is the top strategy. There's an important reason: it's easy. Easy, fast and effective. Until you are not into it you can't understand the potential of Affiliate Marketing.

 

I usually monitize my sites with adsense , it helps me to show standard ads on my site . i not use any other monitization options

 

it depend on what kind of service/products you can offer. Adsense also is a common way to monitize your sites,but offering sofware service or tech support would work

 

You can also try some network that specializes in monetizing websites, then you can place a widget on your site, it won't disturb your audience and will give you some extra cash

 

I create a list first and monetize afterwords. Actually its in the front end as well but then I have a huge list to stay in contact with to build trust with and then I have my own traffic supply so to speak.

I do this all through what is called affiliate marketing. For me the optimization and monetization comes from first getting a viewer to become a prospect then from there through my giveaway getting them to become a customer. I like to hit 20% for my sales and at least 40 to 60% on my prospects.
