Are retweet exchange groups effective?

I just visited a group in Facebook and started thinking whether these tricks are helpful in long run to get huge twitter traffic? Pls help me to find the answer. Should I join this group? Is it safe?

If it's relevant to your niche then yes! It's just like scratch my back and I scratch you method.

Since it's not good to always promote your website and sometimes promoting other people's link without them knowing will not give you a direct benefit.

It's good to setup a partnership where you exchange retweets and get the benefit of always have someone to share your contents.

If you're not sure, best not to use it really. Especially if you value your twitter account. Most of these schemes are shadey and questionable.

 

Not sure why twitter would ban you for sharing someone else tweets? Maybe if you're using automated software or you are just spamming then you will be banned.

Your success in social media is to share only quality links and provide value to your audience. If you engage on a retweet exchange with low quality links then I'm sure you'll lose a lot of followers or they will start filtering you out.

Just read the ToS of twitter if you're in doubt.

Indeed they do. Depending on your niche, I have a Twitter retweets exchange group together on Skype with almost 100 members now... Works similar to the Reddit upvote groups you may have seen. Drop a link in the chat and the others will retweet it...and vice versa.
