    Hello DP Fellows.
    I am working in an app where I need to find pictures of historical figures. I do not want to infringe any copyright, so I am looking for suggestions of pages where I can find such pictures.
    So far I have been getting them from pixabay.com, and google images. Sometimes google images is tricky though.
    Any suggestions?

    Have you tried Wikipedia? You'll have to check the rights for each photo, but there are a lot that can be used under a Creative Commons license.

    Try http://morguefile.com/ for lots of good images. You can also use the advanced search options on Google Images (set the usage rights to "labeled for reuse with modification).

    A good opensource .ai, eps, svg downloadable vectors site is www.freepik.com. I am a designer and I always use it for my graphics designing stuff. hope it helps.

    Morguefile and freedigitalphotos.net are great sources.
    Anyway if it is non commercial use then I think it will be easier to use images.
    And I think a credit/acknowledgement to the owner will do.

    Yea, attribution or acknowledgement is another way you can use copyrighted images. I do know a dozen free image libraries but i'm not sure if you can find historical figures there.. but you may check if u want: here goes my list: Hope you get something useful. :)

    @David Garcia A plethora of links to stock photography sites is available at https://css-tricks.com/sites-with-high-quality-photos-you-can-use-for-free/. However, as I recently commented there, one can never be 100% certain that the person who contributed the photo is the photographer or copyright owner. Anyway, I don't know if you've found all the desired photos for your app but New Old Stock may be a good place to search. Just a hunch.

    @Norebbo Those are great illustrations. (I haven't seen an Eastern Airlines plane in quite a while.) Bookmarked!

    Bolded is to a certain extent, even providing attribution can't prevent legal issues if the owner doesn't want it to be used.
