    You can trust any of the below three and free tools:
    1) Google webmaster tools- you can check your backlinks status.
    2) ahrefs - It is a good site, if you want to check others back links.
    3) Moz - It will help you to find the backlinks.

    GWMT only shows you SOME of your backlinks.
    Majestic shows many, many more. (And you won't have to show evil-G which sites you own)

    MOZ is ok. But they seem to only update their index every month or so, while Maj seems weekly at least

    I honestly havent messed much with AHREFS, but seems slightly better than MOZ.

    Lastly, their was a recent article doing a "shoot-out" between the backlink indexers.
    Majestic citation flow actually had the best correlation with being ranked.
    (I would thought Trust Flow, but alas it was CF...weird)

    As I am using SEOPROFILER for backling check.It provides all the back links for all sites. So I suggest you to use SEOPROFILER to check back links.

    SEMrush does have backlink feature but it is not as powerful as Majestic, Ahrefs or Moz.

    Personally, I like Majestic. Cheapest among the three with a decent database.

    Ahrefs is the best according to me. Of course there are NO cheap, but in the same time effective tools! ;)
