Extending Laptop Battery Life

The laptop has a lithium battery (Chromebook).

What's the best way to extend the battery life?

Once fully charged should you unplug the charger from the wall socket or does it even matter?

I'm not extremely familiar with a Chromebook, but the best and easiest way to extend the battery on windows laptops is to dim the screen as dim as possible. It really doesn't matter if you leave it plugged in at all times.

    The Chromebook automatically does this.

There should also be battery options and power settings to maximize life etc. There should be diagnostic tools built in.

I think so. Unplugging it after 100% charged is recommended because it will overcharge your battery if you leave it plugged. Also, some would recommend not to use your gadget while charging and avoid draining your battery.

The battery should be re-installed every 3-4 weeks and allowed to fully discharge. Leaving a battery in storage for longer than this without using could cause the battery to fully discharge as the circuitry of the battery itself consumes power.

The best way is to drain your batter every single time. I.e. keep using it until it completely falls out of battery, then plug the recharger. Not before.
Overcharging used to be a concern with older models, not with the newer ones, so it shouldn't be a problem to leave the charger plugged when using. (Note: Watiting till the battery has dried out is still reccommended.)
    Other factors are secure sockets.
    Hope this helps you.

There certanily are a few tricks to preserve battery life for a laptop. But the point is that most of them are merely short resolutions.
The point about laptops is that time affects them inadvertedly.
Hence, whatever you try to do to prevent battery changes, (like plugging the charger only when needed. i.e. when empty) They still won't work well. Time takes it's toll on all.

Thanks I figured that was the best way to extend the battery life. As it turned out the monitor didn't last as long as the battery lol.
