I would like to ask for your help.

Is it ok to use a competitors exact keyword for your own website.

    examples:

    - If i had an auction website can i use "ebay" as a keyword

    - If i had a news website could i use "cnn news" or "bbc news"

    thankyou for the advise

I would prob use the word "alternative" in there some where. If they wanted to look up ebay, they would just look up ebay.

Depends.... If the keyword is hard to rank for then no I wouldn't. Either way yes you can use a competitors keyword. If it ranks or not is a different story.

Technically yes, you can use brand keyword. but there is little chance you will rank higher than the competitor.

If the exact match keyword...has already been used by the well-established site (occupy top place in SERP for long period of time)...then it would be better not to use that keyword. Because it would be difficult for you to get high page rank with this type of keyword.

I agree with the posts on here already, you can use just about any keyword but just do your research first to see how competitive it will be to rank for. Otherwise you could end up wasting a lot of time. Find a good keyword research tool and see where to pick your ranking battles.

You can use exact competitor keywords on your site. But you have to analyse before whether these keywords have any possible to achieve first page of google.

I'll agree with everyone. Theoretically, you can use such a keywords. But first concnetrate on a few things:

    1) If they are you competitors then you shoudl work on these keywords so your site becomes ranked higher.
    2) If you are not trying to beat them on Google's search - then why you should even try?
    3) Think of your capabilities. Do you really think you can beat such well-known brands?

You can use your competitors keywords but you need to work hard to rank such keywords because your competitors have already achieved good rank for those keywords.

Yes, of course you can use it, but the one drawback is that your competitor will always be above you as they are using that keyword for longer time. So, it is better you find another unique keyword.
