Google hides duplicate content in its supplemental index. If you're hoping to catch traffic through content marketing, your hired writer isn't helping.

Actually there is no such duplicate content penalty. Google’s major search engine function is to provide a client the best possible results for a search, based upon the keywords that the client has used in the Google search box.

So you are using content which was already published on some article directories for your own article submission work with links to your website? If yes then you are certainly not doing anything good for your website and it will certainly contribute negatively in terms of your SEO efforts.

Actually those content have been created by copying it from various blogs, articles, web pages. Each article contains 60% to 70% of duplicate words. How much really those duplicate articles can affect my website rankings..

I think, you should read about the Google panda algorithm. It is all about duplicate and low quality contents. If you use duplicate content for generating backlinks than Google panda would be a devil for your website. So don't try to use this activity and save your valuable time and investment. Use only Unique and high quality content for generating links from off-page activities like articles, business listing, blog submission, etc.

Google need original and quality contents , Tone of webmasters where writing the same content . Try to make some differences at least the "Title" of the post need some extra changes . If your Post title was different from other , Google let you rank or you using the same title , Then you will not rank .
    Example :
Make Money From The Internet - Title of a blog
Make Money From The Internet - Same title by your blog
The above title will be badly effect your SEO Rank and the below Title will rank well .
Make Huge Amount of Money From Internet - Good blog title

He Amme, while it is true that there is no such thing as a 'duplicate content penalty' per se, it is helpful to remember that Google does employ human search quality raters. And if they deem that a website is intentionally using deceptive practices, they can slap you with a 'manual penalty'. However, it is far more likely that instead of being penalized, the page deemed as having duplicate content will merely be filtered from the results--for related searches.

That being said, it's ideal to try to be at or above the 85% unique threshold. Additionally, if you are using duplicate content but it's your own (or if you are simply referencing someone else's content)...using the rel=“canonical” tag will let Google know:
    1. You are republishing
    2. Where to find the original content
    Hope that helps!

Publishing duplicate content for your website can get you penalized by Google Penguin Update. Google does not accept duplicate content. Your content should be unique if you want your site to get ranked.

Google has claimed time and again, copy information issues are seldom any charge. It's more about Google knowing that page they need to rank and also that page they need to not really. Google doesn’t want to display identical information for you to searchers for the very same dilemma; they will accomplish choose to diversify the outcome to their searchers.

Among the tons of misleading or misheard information in this thread there are a few keypoints you need to take in mind.

Yes, your duplicate content will affect you negatively in one way or another. Even if you are not manually penalized you still risk falling greatly in rankings and even if that doesn't happen (which it eventually will) imagine how many visitors you'd be losing from content spread around a multitude of websites. Bottom line is you are creating content for the visitors, for them to learn something new or find any value. Provide anything different than that and you are throwing efforts in vain... ;)

I believe "duplicate content" applies to a certain content within the site, and not on the other site.
There is another term for that.

As taken from the official Google description "Duplicate content generally refers to substantive blocks of content within or across domains that either completely match other content or are appreciably similar".

So no...duplicate content is duplicate content whether its texts on your website or other websites. Simple as that.
