    Dear Mates,

I am very eager to know your thoughts/experience to find new client in any specific industry. As I belong to Design & Development so it will be good if people from this industry will share their thoughts on it.

Thank you in advance for your kind response.

I am getting my client through Email- marketing , Freelancing sites ( Elance , Upwork(odesk) , guru ) , Social media campaigns ( facebook , twitter).

And some clients from forums too.

Your best bet these days is through social media. You need to have a good social media presence and manage to engage your followers. Also, advertising on social media is pretty cheap and very effective from my experience.

I've advertised on Facebook and Twitter but the ones on Facebook did have a higher conversion rate.

The best thing is to advertise yourself in as many places as possible. Create a Facebook page, connect with people on Twitter (Twitter is great for finding people!), perhaps start a free website (Wordpress or Blogger) and of course, use forums like this - there's a design section if you didn't already know.

    All the best!

How I get traffic and buyers to my website is by posting content on related blogs, forum posting, and Social Media Networks. So far all of these things have worked for me.

Feel free to PM me with any questions that you might have.
    Good Luck to You!

Thank you for your kind advice, I have couple of quick questions

    1) How to find people of my interest on FaceBook specially on Twitter
    2) Starting a FREE website is not an issue but promotion of it is not easy specially need good content on it. Also it is slow process although long lasting. I need something quick but less expensive ways, if FREE than it will be great :D
    3) Yes, i didn't notice design section. Let me explore it

I am looking forward for some more ideas from you.

    Thanks

local forums should be your first target. people in the local forums need to be introduced and its your chance to let them know someone can provide such services.

for web design and things, i believe forums like this can help, what you could also do, is create a few themes, and try to sell them on forums etc etc, this will show people your skills.

here is what you can do: set up a Facebook fan page, set up a post to advertise your business (link it to your business site), you'll then buy FB ads to your post. That should help.

My first client came from Internet. If you have good offer, offer which people want you shoudn't have problem to sell. The biggest problem with clients is - people selling something and they THINK that people want something. But the true is you have to ask your clients what they want and sell them what they need :) I know that my answer is little bit different but this aspect mensioned by me is very important :)

For me, the adwords works best for local business, the second is a brandname on social such as FB and Youtube. You know the design niche needs real interaction, that means you need to show your porfolio and the way they can share your works easily, so I recommend you you adwords, facebook and youtube.

post ads on local classified ads, such as craglist,us free ads etc.
if you have some budget use facebook to build a list of your prospective clients and market to them within your email
