It might take a few weeks, it might take a few days, depending on how quickly you promoted the site after adding the initial keywords

Agree with this. My experience with my websites was that I updated the content a few days in a row and the changes got picked up immediately (in a couple of days).

It depends on how often you update your website..

TIP : Install the Sitemap XML plugin if you are using wordpress. That will notify the search engines each time you update

Whenever I post new articles on my website it's easily cached within 5-10 minutes. Pretty instant.

It takes more time when the contents are changed (1 or 2 weeks are more).... It depends on how fast google follows to your link from some urs or some other sites....

Usually pages newly added will get noticed faster than contents changed...

I have a website www.sgfweddings.com, for my business and am trying to get in the top 10 for San Diego wedding videographers. There isn't to much competition so it should be possible.

I am currently using an SEO pluggin and trying to include keywords in my posts.

My question is how exactly do you get links to your site into other web pages? Obviously I could do it in this post but would that help?

I've come to the conclusion that Google is going to do exactly what they want. No matter how we try to figure them out they seem to be steps ahead!

Whenever you change a page (or add a new one), do a "Fetch As Google" submission in the "Crawl" section of your Google Webmaster Tools. For me that greatly speeds up Google's visits to my changed or new pages.
