Using a number like 2 instead of "to" in domain name?

Let's pick a random domain name, let's say "nametoown.com". Let's say I could also register "name2own.com". Which would be better to use for SEO purposes? I learned a long time ago that numbers are generally bad to have in domains but in this case I could see name2own.com to be easier to read and remember than the letters only version?

What do you guys think? Which one would you pick?

Personally, I would go with the number 2. I dunno, I just like it better. I think it will be easier to write and remember.

I also like it because I have a forum site that has the number 2 in it.

I think the number 2 looks better. If you did seo correctly then I don't see how it would effect you in any way. Number domains rank fine all the time :)

If 2checkout.com use '2' in their main website name, then why wouldn't you?

Ideally, you should have both. If it's important enough, you should spend the extra few dollars and buy them. Whichever one you choose not to use, redirect to the other. And I'd rather use NameToOwn.com than the "2". Not a fan of numbers, but it's fine as long as you own the other. Loss of traffic.

Yea, I have both domains already so I am good. I think the 2 actually makes the domain easier to read.

Since "nametoown" have the confusing oo, you should got with the number. It seems hard to read a domain that have so many vocals togheter.
