Hi I have a WP blog that I messed up. I opened the permalink section and changed to a custom permalink (The second choice from bottom ) using the post name. My .htaccess was not writable at the time, so I copied the provided .htaccess code into the .htaccess file, saved and uploaded. I should have seen the new url structure, but Many page links are now 404 (Being redirected the the new permalink style but finding 404) When I go to the wp-admin > Setting > Permalink to try and change this back, it boots me back to a login page with what looks like a repetitive url http://domain.com/signs/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.domain.com%2Fsigns%2Fwp-admin%2Foptions-permalink.php&reauth=1 Code (markup): DOMAIN.com = Actual domain name I have tried several things but don't know what I'm doing so I don't want to make it worse. I'm looking for some one who can fix the problem and get me back on track ASAP. Will pay by Paypal, please PM me with rates and rough estimate of time expected or flat rate to fix. Thank you, have a great day Scott
Try to edit the .htaccess file in this way: delete everything on there, place a blank space and save it.
Thanks Harvey, I had already tried that but, it was still FUBAR I actually had someone fix it last night though. Thanks for your help, I appreciate your reply
