    Hello,
As we know that Google already announced the launch date of their new algorithm which could hit non-responsive websites and give the more preference to mobile friendly websites. So what strategies are preparing to encounter with it?

    Thanks

Nothing special, I've been using responsive themes for as long as I can remember. However, if you have a non-responsive site, I'm not sure that changing the theme now will do you much good either.

If you aren't mobile friendly, get yourself mobile friendly. :)

We already have responsive design, we are not implementing any changes. From the beginning we are working as per Google guidelines so we do not need to worry about update.

I have over 320 pages on my website, and not one of them is mobile friendly.

24% of my traffic is currently from mobile devices. The pages right now show well on devices from tablet size on up. I'm still weighing over if (1) I'm willing to invest the large amount of time and energy to make all my pages mobile friendly; or (2) just let it go, keep my pages static, and suffer the loss of a portion of 24% of my traffic. We'll see. I haven't decided which way to go yet. (P.S. The website is nonprofit.)

Interesting!!! There are SEOs here who are now considering upgrading to a responsive or mobile ready website now when the algorithm upgrade is imminent. People who know SEO have moved on like 2-3 years ago. Link spamming is not SEO, one must pay attention to what users are looking for on your website and where they are bouncing. If you had noticed it you would have already understood why shifting to mobile first platforms is essential. Today we see about the same amount of traffic from mobile devices and tabs as desktops and laptops.

I'd like this comment if I could figure out how to like! Ya, unbelievable that so many site owners still ignore mobile.

Seeing that we've been told for close to two decades not to designed fixed width layout; that for over a decade we've been told to design elastic and semi-fluid, and that techniques like mcSwitchy (a scripted precursor to media queries) are almost a decade old, and that responsive design itself is pushing past half a decade old...

If this "update" has an impact on your website, you've been sleazing out websites any old way ignoring good practices, and most likely have your head wedged so far up 1997's backside you're deep-throating its tonsils.

Which of course is why responsive layout is just the next logical step after all the accessibility guidelines and HTML/CSS rules/methods we've been told to switch to for a decade and half; concepts lost on the ignorant jacktards sleazing out PSD's and calling it "design", crapping together off the shelf "frameworks" any old way, and in general still vomiting up HTML 3.2 with the vendor specific crap that wormed it's way into the spec and slapping either 4 tranny or 5 lip-service around it.

This update "impacts" your sites -- like pretty much every other Google update of the past decade -- you are pretty much getting what's coming to you out of either ignoring all the good advice of the past decade and a half, or out of blindly believing the lies, propaganda and outright bunk vomited up by so called SEO "Experts".

Part of why I love Google Algo updates -- It's fun watching the halfwits, morons and fools who believe the SEO lies run around like chickens with their heads cut off when their scam artist BS gets slapped down hard.
