    Dear members,
    I am intending opening a new web site. I just have a question about google images. I know that is not legal to put google images on my web site without the permission of the author who has made the photo. Anyway, on the 'search' at the google images, we have an option, we can choose under the 'usage rights' that the picture we are going to get it can be legal to use it if you know what i mean.
    it is legal to get picture like this way?

    Technically yes, but you could still get caught out if the photo has been labelled incorrectly by someone who isn't the owner of the photo. You would be better off using stock photo websites that have free photos, such as:

    http://pixabay.com/
    http://www.morguefile.com/
    http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/
    http://www.pd4pic.com/

    You can also use some Wikipedia photos. If you're willing to credit the photographer, you can also find lots of great photos on FlickR - but make sure to adhere to the usage rights.

    There's also Creative Commons, which allows you to use images that the owner has marked with certain rights. The site has a direct search on Flickr, Google, Fotopedia and others - but again, be careful and double-check that the images really do have usage/whatever rights set. The search is here: http://search.creativecommons.org

    There are many sites who used to give new logo with pictures which is legal. Try for it hope you get better image than what it is already implemented by other companies and generlly posted in google image

    Over the past 15 years I have been involved with the launch of hundreds of websites. Many website owners chose to 'rip' images from Google images as a free solution, rather than pay for licensed photos. Dozens of these website owners have since received aggressive letters from solicitors of Getty Images, Istockphoto and others demanding payment and damages for the images.

    This is becoming increasingly common now, given that these big players have automated image matching engines that run 24 hours a day identifying unlicensed use of their images.

    Apart from being unsettling for the nerves, the costs to the owners have been 10 times what it would have cost them to buy the images in the first place. This experience has taught me that its worthwhile to buy licensed images for $20 a pop (or so). You can sleep sounder at night with a license number to fall back on.

    There's only one safe long-term solution - only use images with Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licenses. Anything else, and you'll be taking the risk of future litigation. Even purchased images come with limitations that are hidden in the fine print. For instance, time limitation, geographic distribution, number of views, etc.
