Hi Do you guys still do directory submissions for SEO and does it help? I stopped back in 2010 when when those kinds of links were not valued very much anymore - or so I was told.
They still "work" per say, but directories don't have the same kind of authority that they used to. Meaning that Google knows you're just submitting to link directories and the links aren't really worth much. When it comes to backlinking, quality over quantity!
In general, no I don't bother with directory submissions. If I did, it would be very few, like Dmoz, BOTW and "specific" to my niche only. Even back in the day when this was popular, nobody got any real traffic from directories anyway.
Nope directory submissions don't work as they used to. Its all about socil media and putting good content on your sites..
Links in well organized directories, in categories relevant to your site's topic, work just fine, but keep in mind that many web directories are junk. They may work too, but not necessarily in the way you'd like.
They are still useful, a great way to get different anchor texts for your website. Be sure they are related and if possible they should be dofollow!
Hi, Still directory submission works in SEO, but the thing is now a days there are thousands of directory submission site which are not approved, so instead of doing high quantity submission, do quality directory submission.
Well, can't say no its still works but depend on directory, your country, your theme and most important think don't given this work to anybody else do your self and search completely then submit..
Directory submissions still work to rank your site, Just look for websites with thousands of links, blog commenting, guest posting, thoese help your website to rank better. links still work free and paid, google doesn't track whether we buy backlinks or not, so there is no way to know that. when you are guest posting i prefer hubpages, and also authority sites with many pages.
I don't feel directories works anymore in the current era. I've never even got any visitor from the directories either.
I don't see the effectiveness of submitting link to online directories. For me, I'd rather focus on something like content marketing which will give me the benefit of earning a backlink and at the same time increase my site's organic traffic and organic search.
the problem with directories is, can they be considered natural? I mean. one of your fans is so enthusiast of your website that submits it to the directories he likes. What about this? it's natural, so how to separate natural linking from the rest? it's not easy to understand what is good and what not, probably there is a minimum quota that is considered natural and going over this can ruin your Serps. in any case, much better to work on improving your website and just wait for natural linking happening.
I wouldn't buy a package or service with directory submission. It's way too risky because you don't know the URLs in advance. I tried that about 2 years ago and it worked for a few weeks and then my website lost 80% of it's traffic overnight. If you do directory submissions make sure to follow those rules: 1) Do it manually 2) In high PR and popular sites 3) Topic must be related to your niche (otherwise it needs to be very popular and general such as DMOZ, etc.)
The overwhelming majority of directories are pure junk! A small handful are respectable. I haven't submitted to a directory for years. I have much better, more fruit-bearing things to do with my time spent on the website.
Only a few directories are working. Rest all directories are either junk or not monitored regularly. If you do directory submission then do from a high PR site and in a proper category.
