Is market for PR domains Dead?

Discussion in 'Domain Names' started by tradester, Mar 13, 2015.

You can see tonnes of PR domains put up for sale but no buyers and no demand Since Google stopped PR update. Is it cos buyers look for other metrics like DA? What domains are in demand ?
    Thanks in advance :)

What Google "killed" is the shady business of artificially boosting the PR of the domain and then flipping it as a valuable one. Nowadays, as people get more and more educated, they slowly start to learn to look beyond simple PR. There are far more and better metrics that can reflect on the value of the domain. A simple PR just won't cut it and that is the majority of domains that you see on auctions. ;)

Buying a domain for it's PageRank went out of style about 10 years ago. DA has been a better metric for quite awhile now.

As others have said, PR is a thing of the past... I'd still look for PR domains, just make sure they have other good metrics to back up the PR. DA/PA/TF/MozRank are all metrics you can use to show that the PR might still be somewhat strong.

In fact, PR value is still considered by Google. Otherwise, Google may have removed the PR indicator. You can still see that all the websites have PR, may be NA, 0, 1, 2 etc.

There are new quality indicators (PA, DA ...) but the buyers are very unaware of them (except seo experts). So, yes, the easy PR-domain sales are over and we have to find something else :)
