Note the date of the thread. Since we are no longer running on vBulletin, info is probably obsolete.

You're a funny guy. Have you ever been to DP on mobile?
Thing is, it's not optimized for mobile yet, and some site, like 9Gag, thechive, etc created an app for their users on the iOS and Android platform. Those browser app you're talking about? That's a different thing bro.

So, with that understanding, I hope you understand my question.

I have and I don't see the problem, the site is perfectly usable in iPhone 5 landscape.

It's not even a problem. It's called optimizing. And don't tell me that you can easily click on alerts without zooming. You are really funny. But anyway, you're not on the planning team either. So I'm just asking, ok? If they don't, they will say so.

But DP's got problem too. Here's a screen showing the drop down that needs tweaking.

I can't imagine anything worse than trying to fit all the info into such a tiny screen. I love how it looks on my ipad though

My daughter uses her iphone for just about everything these days. I think that many folks would use it for convenience, despite the small print, etc. I use my smartphone for calls, emails, and occasional texts. Just about never web surf with it because the screen is so small.

My phone is always with me and I use it for so much more than normal phone stuff - like Strava and mapping/gps offroad tools but they are things that tend not to be text based. Could be my age - I need glasses these days for the little stuff.

when im not at my computer and i get an email from digital point telling me that someone replyed or sent me a PM it would be good to just open up an up to read and reply. But if the app was optimize to work on tablets as well than screen size is no issue.

That's the magic :), the content will have to be planned and put into screens, transitions some hidden, some visible etc. and so on.
But it would be lovely to have a light app or may be a mobile site.

Though, I would argue not everything to be turned into an App just for the sake of it being used on a mobile, rather a mobile site or a responsive version of the same can cater the information sharing needs as well, but it also depends on the money and efforts involved, not to forget the number of users interested and actually craving to have one :)..... count me in btw for a mobile site :)

PS. the one you see on your ipad is an Adaptive version of the same, which you would may be/might be zoom in to view at times.

There's probably not a whole lot of reason to have a mobile app except for one thing... it would be nice to see the alerts you get (under your Alerts menu) here as push notifications.
