If you spam, then no, it won't work. If you post quality comments, then of course it works.

 

It really depends on how you comment. I suggest you comment on blogs with cummentluv and really read the articles you are commenting on, don't just copy paste a silly comment, this way you will get the backlink and won't be marked as spam.

 

It's only a good source to get a few nofollow backlinks! Just do not SPAM and write ONLY manually on RELATED blogs!

 

When you actually take time to engage the reader, rather than worrying about the backlink, you are more likely to build an audience. And, ultimately this audience will be the ones reading you blog posts, clicking your links or ads and buying your products.

Blog commenting still effective if you do it in genuine way, read the respective blog where you are going to comment and do not comment like nice post, good post , i really appreciate it etc. just stop spamming.

Manual on relevant blogs, sure will work. Why we say manual you cannot build it fast unless you employ 10 guys to one site. So, do it slowly.

 

I don't really know, because I've been using blog comments only for my tier 3 links.
So, I don't really use them for tier 1, but when I do, they're relevant "smart" links placed mostly for the purpose of traffic. Some of them don't even show up when I check them with the inbound link checker, but that's OK, I still know they're there.

Blog commenting basically for getting backlinks. If you stick to get backlinks then you are wastage your time as google will consider it spam. Its better to run a conversation with the topics stated in article and ask them or suggest them and let them know what your products or services. I think I have done this and got better results.

 

Things i do is, get back link on user name instead of keyword and get back link to content instead of site.

Blog commenting depends on how you do it and not come out as a spammer by simply promoting your website. You should engage with other users and chip in your website name smartly.
