Basically how it works for almost everything (beside #2).

 

Completely agree with "increase the Traffic on your site" but forgot most important one "use Alexa toolbar"

 

Haha, steps are much easier actually:

- Have 10-20 friends install the Alexa Toolbar on their browser
- Have them frequently visit your website or better yet, set the website as the browser homepage
- Lot of refreshing
- Ka-ching!

 

Why bother..who the hell actually cares about Alexa rank these days anyway, totally meaningless.

 

You give some good suggestions, but my solution is just more traffic. The more traffic you can get, the higher your Alexa is bound to go... I wouldn't put too much focus on this number though. As your traffic grows the Alexa will as well!

 

Why would you still care about Alexa in today's world?
I'd rather suggest you to focus on quality link building activities and alexa will improve slowly and gradually.
Alexa and Page Rank doesn't have any importance now.

yeah, alexa cant be always use as standard. the important thing is when our keyword typed in google, they will show on firstpage

 

Alexa Rank is more of your visitors are getting alerted of the Alexa Ranking. The Alexa improved due to your traffic increase, not the opposite way. And Alexa ranking can be boost by using tools, it is not accurate enough. Alexa Ranking provides you an immediate view of you and your competitors’ performance comparison.

 

No one cares now about alexa and building backlinks (Dofollow) now a day is risky. So don't waste your time in building Dofollow links, instead build more quality articles and focus on on-page.

@OP - I think a better question is why do you want a high Alexa ranking? It ultimately doesn't mean anything other than that it's simply a ranking. It's really only bragging rights and even then it's only bragging rights if the person you're bragging to thinks it's important.

Is it to provide your customers a sense of legitimacy for your site? Are there other ways you could convey that message?

2. Rent four trained monkeys and have them click away.
3. Sit back and wait.

Or you could to the equivalent of renting trained monkeys, and sign up for one of the several services that are available, and pay them $30 a month until you get the ranking you're looking for.

Alexa Traffic Rank is important only because many people don't know that it's easily manipulated.

 

I would not waste time with Alexa if I were you! Even if you have 20,000, you can still be with no sales after all! The ranking is not accurate as it only counts the number of visitors that have the Alexa toolbar installed!

 

Keep in mind that Alexa only measures visits to pages when the visitor has the Alexa toolbar installed. Alexa toolbar doesn't give you proper statics as it is calculated on the basis of people who are visiting your website, with Alexa toolbar installed in it. So if a user who is visiting your website is not having Alexa toolbar installed in his PC, that visit will not be included in the Alexa traffic. I think, Alexa rank doesn't help to know the popularity of the website.

A regular content upgrade to your website is a good way to improve the Alexa rank. You can have a blog section for such updates. It will also help to increase the crawl frequency of your website.

 

I don't think so that regular content updating is the good way to improve alexa.
