Which would you choose (and why) if your FirstnameLastname.com (example: BobJones.com) domain was taken by someone else, but the following two options were available to register?

    FirstnameLastname.net (example: BobJones.net)

    or

    FirstnameMiddleinitialLastname.com (example: BobCJones.com)

First name and last name would do, because the first one is much easier to remember.
Besides domain extensions are both top level.

Thanks for your reply, Patricia! So you would just go with firstnamelastname.net then in this situation?

    Yes, bmc.
I guess it will not a big deal for ordinary people searching on the internet whether you are using .com or .net as long as you meet their needs. :)
In SEO purposes, it doesn't matter also. Search engines view on domain extensions are all the same, nothing special.
Hope it helps! But, let's wait what will others say about this. :)

It's not necessarily a bad idea to have both, but as far as which one is better...doesn't matter. No one will think any less of you which of those 2 extensions you have/developed. If I had to pick though, I'd go with the middle initial .com ;) I'd rather have that.
