How to get indexed quickly

    Hi all
    Happy New Year.

    I have a site that has this week changed to include local news. My competitor the local broadsheet get their news indexed by Google within hours some of my stories are days old and still not showing in results.
    How can I get Google to index my news articles quickly hours rather than days.
    My site is an established site 10 years old and well indexed, apears on page one for keyword and has for years, so we are not new.
    Any advice here Thanks

    1) tweet out links to your news articles as they appear
    2) add a crawlable thing high on homepage 'latest news stories'
    fwiw, I think I read somewhere Google has specific criteria that it uses to judge if you're newsworthy

    I have a linking news ticker under main menu at top of page, I have also been tweeting all week the new stories. I will look in to the Google newsworthy bit Thanks for answer

    Use Social media and increase popularity. It`ll be to increase PA & DA. After that time you`ll see your post automatic index within 1-2 hours. Besieds, you can try to quck index third part tools.

    Whenever you change a page, or add a new page, do a "Fetch as Google." It's in your Webmaster Tools > Crawl > Fetch as Google. Put the file path of the new or changed page into the data box, hit "Fetch," then "Submit..." when that option pops up in a few seconds. That has gotten lightning-fast indexing for my pages. Sometimes in just a minute or two.

    Post your new page URL to pingomatic. That's what Google uses and will crawl it instantly. Wordpress updates post to pingomatic automatically.
