Wordpress v/s Blogger

Is it true that Wordpress sites rank better on Google thank those on Blogger ?

If I had two identical sites, one hosted on Wordpress and the other on Blogger and assuming that there are no penalties for duplicate sites, which one would rank better ?

Contrasting Wordpress and Blogspot, Wordpress offers more alternatives to advance your website for web crawler where as in Blogspot you are restricted to specific settings.

in Wordpress you can't add multiple website links in blog-post(WordPress admin block your account) while not in blogger...So be more specific either you are using blog for backlinks purpose or only for blogpost.

Are you talking about self hosted blog with your own domain ? If so, Wordpress is best. And if you are talking about subdomain at wordpress/blogger then blogger is better.

Wordpress is more Google friendly because of its customization and other options. You can create any type of website wordpress. Blogger is a beginners tool in my views. Simple and easy to use platform and don't have so much customization options.

Yes, WordPress sites are ranked better in Google. Howerver, WordPress users should make sure that its version and plugins are updated or else it can get hacked easily.

Google owns blogger so if the content is of good quality and you have backlinks to high page ranking sites then you'll do better with blogger. Bad side is that you can lose your blog if Google doesn't like it.

I would like to share some of my experience on this. In my six or more years of blogging, I have used Blogger and Wordpress both and got ranked and visitors on both platforms.

But Personally I would prefer WordPress with all the plugins and customization options. For now, Social shares are quite important for ranking and with wordpress, you can inspire visitors to get your posts share. This is just a basic example but by far WordPress wins this race.

I would say Wordpress as it's much better optimized for SEO even from a scratch.. But it's just a personal choice! :)

Though blogger is owned by Google, the content you post on it will surely get noticed if its unique. But, with Wordpress having same content(as per you assumed) your content is more likely to get noticed first through WordPress. But, for ranking I guess its only content that matters and also the social shares it gets.

platform has no value in ranking but site structure does matter. If you create two blogs on different platform with same content than google will rank the specific blog which has the good site structure

I have many blogger blogs and wordpress sites. I can't see any SEO advantage of any of the platforms. Its all about your site quality and incoming links. I prefer blogger anyway.

All those people giving opinions and just one cared to see the essence - nowhere in OP's question was there a lead if they were asking about the self-hosted WordPress CMS blogs or the ones on the WordPress.com that work similarly to Blogger. If its the latter then there can be arguments as both Blogger and WordPress.com have certain pros and cons. But if we are referring to self-hosted WordPress there isn't really any competition - the SEO possibilities and addons of WP far surpass anything a ready-made platform like Blogger can offer.

Blogger is the product of the google, then obviously site on blogger has good rank. But the Wordpress also provide so many plugins like "YOAST" to improve your ranking in search engines. Main benefit of the wordpress is that by the use of plugins you can improve your ranking in Bing also.
