Feedback IS DP going to shut down?

    Hello everyone,

I had my broker I use for acquiring businesses look into the whereabouts of Shawn, the founder of DP to possibly make an offer and was alerted to the following article: http://www.businessinsider.com/shawn-hogan-sentenced-in-ebay-affiliate-marketing-scam-2014-5

With this being said, what is the future of DP? I have been a long time user of DP and would love to help in anyway to ensure DP's success but this is a bit disappointing and worrisome. I was hoping a moderator possibly could comment on the situation if possible?

Shawn will be back in December, pretty sure DP isn't going to shut down and even more positive DP will not be up for sale, so probably forget that idea..lol
You haven't been here that long...only 2 years.

Perish the thought of DP going under or being sold.

Its just plain curiosity how much DP would even be worth...
Warrior Forum sold for $3.2m. If DP is sold not sold, I figure
it is worth more; either way, lifetime retirement fund if
shawn handles his finances right, and no further law issues...

I would not be surprised if he has already been approached
with legit offers to buy DP as there are always companies
out there looking for nice sites like DP to buy...

and if that offer is right, then you never know, and it should
be a damn good offer; because whatever millions DP would
sell for, then shawn would probably pay 30-40% in taxes....
Just because warrior sold for $3.2m does not mean he
took home $3.2m, after taxes, maybe half that....
    (assuming he paid his taxes....)

lol, you like the forum enough to consider buying it but hadn't paid enough attention to know about "the drama". Then your broker has failed to point out that his sentence is almost over and very little has happened in his absence and so, logically, a shutdown is unnecessary. Your broker should have pointed out that the forum, by virtue of being on a subdomain, can't be sold on it's own and therefore comes with other tools and utilities that require administration and updates. You might need to get a new broker.

I do like the forum enough to consider purchasing DP as I have purchased other businesses in past months under multi million dollar agreements. Regardless of the site being on a sub-domain, if I was to hypothetically make an offer for digitalpoint, it would be on all assets and inventory which would then include all subdomains, domains, products, staff, secrets and so forth. My broker is one of a kind and highly experienced, I simply tell him what im looking for and mentioned DP would be a plausible investment and he does his research and we go from there. I don't only target web related businesses, for instance, I bought two towing companies in the Phoenix area for a sum of 1.5 for one and 1m for another. Just all depends on what I see as a wise investment as well as what I can revamp and change that million dollar business into a 100 million dollar business. Just all depends really. By no means am I saying I would persue to purchase Digitalpoint, but if the opportunity arises, I may make an offer.

I hope DP won't ever be sold - it's a great forum! Even after all these years, it has so much potential for growth. Just one example, is the marketplace where you can go to buy and sell. That was nice of Shawn to add the article section - he always has a lot of new ideas. I predict it will grow a lot over the next few years, bringing significant revenue.

I'm thankful for the mods that have kept DP running smoothly during Shawn's "vacation" and looking forward to Shawn returning ...

I am trying to find how can I add a warning to Shwan? a few points for several month... after all, isn't paradoxal setting rules and warning people while being happy breaking others (doesn't matter if ebay agreed or not?)

Are you saying you can't complain about the behaviour of others unless you, yourself, are perfect?

That would lead to an unruly society, surely?

This was sarcastic, actually, what shawn, you, the pope did in the past is by million miles away my problem, everyone has skeletons in its closet; still need to clean mine, both my ex wives are still hanging in there
I am by far perfect, I never said I was and will probably never be, perfect is boring, yet no one is.

"Warrior Forum sold for $3.2m. If DP is sold not sold, I figure it is worth more; either way, lifetime retirement fund"

That kind of money is NOT a life time retirement fund for any one these days.
Certainly not in the US or almost in any where else in Europe.

I do not believe that the owner would consider selling this forum for any where even near that amount.

Would be interested to know if it is for sale though :)
