Next Panda Update?

Discussion in 'Google' started by andrej, Nov 23, 2014.

Anyone has any idea of when the next Panda update could roll out? Will it be yet in 2014?

I'm asking because my website was probably penalized by the Panda update or it got a thin content penalty. I have made radical changes to this website - it should now comply 100% with the Google's guidelines, so I'm just waiting for a recovery.

My best guess is they'll do a minor update in late-January/Feb and then they'll do larger update in June/July to tackle PBNs and hidden content.

Algorithm updates are already rolled out and I don't think another update will be out soon or before the year ends.
Furthermore, no one knows about the next update except for google, it is just hard to predict.
I suggest that instead of anticipating for the next update why don't you focus more on improving your site.
If you think that it is already a hundred percent okay then that's good! Keep it up!
What's important is you monitor it as much as possible so you know that you are still on the right track.
And also, follow blogs like searchengineland, moz and searchenginewatch for more updates, they are most likely to give heads up whenever there could be a possible update coming. :)

I really hope that Google will speed up the algorithm updates process, as many small businesses have paid companies to remove their toxic backlinks and are waiting for a recovery (including me). John Mueller said that they are working on making the updates more frequently. However, he also said that Christmas is coming and they don't want to mess things up, so the next update will probably be in early 2015.

Don't worry about next update - do you know google do some minor changes in their algorithm every day. So if your website content problem is solved, your problem will be solved before the update itself.

Is everyone here feel some major fluctuations or recoveries of rankings in the results page? It was happened December 5 evening and I also noticed some boost on rankings in my websites. I'm wondering that there is no official statement on this from Google. I want to know why it is called Penguin Double-take. Does anyone had take on this.

It seems like google did a few weird updates after penguin 3.0.
There was something on thanksgiving, then 1-2 December and 5 December and some report changes from yesterday as well.
The main thing is that some people are happy as they are recovering.

Some people also reported that websites hit by penguin 1 are recovering now as well... no idea what's happening there but there surely lots of activity in google serp now.

Good guess. I hope they will do it because my website was probably penalized by the Panda update too.
