Though here in China not many of us will specially celebrate Thankgiving Day, but this morning in our office, we colleagues said Thank You to each other. It's nice!! Will you do something special on this Thanksgiving Day? Is Thanksgiving Day popular in your place? Thank you, DPers!
They celebrate Thanksgiving in China? Never heard of it. Here in the US Thanksgiving is popular, of course, but nobody says "thank you" to each other, but you hear a lot of "Happy Thanksgiving!" at the stores, offices and so forth. For the religious people here it's the day to thank God for all the blessings he's provided throughout the year. For the secular folks it's the time to eat a lot of turkey, mashed potatoes, pies. And of course the religious people will eat like pigs tomorrow too. I am looking forward to watching the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys game and to eating my wife's awesome cooking tomorrow.
God I wish someone would come up with some new holidays. I'm kinda burnt out on the whole turkey thing.
感恩節快樂！ Gǎn'ēn jié kuàilè! I said "Happy Thanksgiving!" in Chinese. I hope that's right, I used the Google translator. I'm in the US. Every year I spend time with my extended family. We gather for a big meal and give thanks and gratitute for all of our blessings. Unfortunately, this year I will have to work a big part of the day (away from home). It's still a special day though, and I'll have fun regardless. Thanks for thinking of Thanksgiving in China too.
I am the only one that doesn't have 9-5er around here so I am charged with the task of cooking for 10 people Sorta into it. Hope my note finds everybody well and actively doing nothing. Nigel
