Domain Authority reigns supreme. Even after Penguin. Even more so.
But selling just a domain and changing its content can ruin all previous effort.

So my advice: buy the whole site.

    I agree.

PageRank was terribly slow and I think Google wasn't giving us a real image of site value anyway.

Lots of manipulative sites just bought high PR "do follow" links and got away with it. Others were just too big fish in the sea to drown, so it's always the little guys that suffer.

The MOZ metrics are quite complex as well, but I find them closer to reality.

Until MOZ starts getting harsh and punishing everyone around...

Hm..but it wasn't that long ago that PR was updated. Or maybe I was just not following very closely...

    No problem,

The most important is PA, DA and BL Profile.

Previously, it updates every half year, the last time a year later updated!

The representative of Google said that Google's Toolbar PR may stop updating, but in fact it is updated frequently but we can't see it. Although last year, too much rumors were going about this.

    Hi

We heard the news about stopping the google PR update . it was a rumor for more than 3 years and it seems that it is a reality now .
I have a powerful website lunched on 2013/2014 however it is still showing PR :N/A
I know that PR has nothing to do with seo and Ranking , but having the PR toolbar showing no PR will be disturbing for alot , especially for old webmasters who give google PR an exagerated value .

So why google keeps showing PR for old websites and negliging new websites ?. Desactivating PR tool should include all websites .

Only my point of view :(

Toolbar PR is not the real PR of a web page. Forget it even exists.

To be exact, Google said they will not be updating "PR in Toolbar" anymore. This does not mean Google will not be updating PR of web pages. Only the toolbar will not show the latest PR. If the toolbar is showing, for example, a PR of 5 for a website, it will keep showing the same PR forever for that website.

This is a good move by Google, which will cause SEOs and Webmasters to focus on real digital marketing rather than sticking with increasing PR.

by this was they should desactivate the PR tool .
If a website have PR7 then - by time - it will lost Ranking , it is no logical to keep this tool as it will show always PR7 . even with the falling down .

My idea it is remove completly this tool to not confuse Seo newbies .

SEO used to depend on PR in the past. These days its all about authority. I do not care about PR anymore .. but if a domain has a high DA , PA and trust flow i will definitely go for it.

Now just see what they are doing. They started with keywords in meta, they then included links incoming and outgoing calculation. Then gave many freebie ways to build links.. Now after many years they stopped them, and even meta things. They also started PR thing and updated them in every 3 then 6 and then 9 months.

Now they are taking away every thing they started initially and now even considering them as bad effects.

I mean when they are bored with this social signal and branding thing, what they are going to do next??? After this i think we need to beg in front of local G office to give us ranking. Whoever has best begging style, will get toppest ranking :D :D

That is real bad. If you dont want to update PR, then what is sense of PR anymore? How can we know that we are going in right direction or not??

I think backlinks will be removed from ranking factor as well. lol
So, the high ranking sites will be the one that has big money :)
Because high quality websites that has fast loading, good user interface, mobile friendly, valid codes, clean IP, Good web hosting, unique and valuable contents will cost you lots of money.
    You got the picture!
