If you are an Internet Marketer as me, your first goals are how to maximaze your profits, how to get a ton of traffics to your website and so on. You do not think about how to protect your business and yourself. All your attention is focused on your profits. Let me tell you that you're making a big mistake. There's an internet Law every online marketer must be in compliance with. You know like in certain states where certain signs must be posted where employees are likely to see them or warnings for customers about slippery floors, our web sites must display the right documents. You may be asking yourself, what are these right legal documents, you must have on website to protect yourself and your business. Let us have a look on them: A- Privacy Policy This essential document indicates how you collect and use information about your visitors, without it you are open to problems from visitors and from Federal Government Enforcement Agencies like the Federal Trade Commission. B- Terms of Use & Disclaimer This document protects you in that it limits your responsibility to the users of your website. Without it, your website could be shot down in an instant! C- Affiliate Agreement If you run an affiliate program through ClickBank, this form is ideal. Allows you to set the terms your affiliates must follow when advertising and selling your products! D- No-Spam Agreement Protect yourself against possible spam abuse and accusations and ensure your in compliance with the latest Can-Spam laws with this essential legal form! E- Copyright Notice Protects your content and graphics by outlining how visitors are allowed to use them. Without this you may find your content and profits being stolen from you, you simply cannot be without this simple addition to your site! F- Earnings Disclaimer This is a must have document if you sell marketing information or 'How to Make Money' programs, or even just if you run an affiliate program! One famous internet marketer could have used one of these before the FTC shut down his operations a few years ago! Don't be the next one caught out! As Internet Marketer, you need to have all the Legal documents on your website not to get FTC all over you. Without this Required Legal Documents, Just one single complaint from one customer and your entire business could be shut down for good! Not to mention the headache and huge costs of a possible court battle! It's happened thousands of times before, and it will happen again, so you need to protect yourself against these lawsuits today and ensure it won't happen to you! To Success, Fredy DEMONLE
I don't think there's a catch-all "internet law" that requires any of the listed documents, but it is certainly a good idea to have those that apply to your site.
Hi donnareed, You're right. It's an an International Law. It's established by The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) . Yours Successfully, Fredy DEMONLE
Hi glorybeme, You should have a link to these pages on your home page. But it also depends on what services you're offering on others pages. Yours Sincerely Fredy DEMONLE
That's interesting - since when did the FTC have jurisdiction in the UK, where I am? Or in any other country than the USA? (Although I do agree that you should have legal document pages on every site to protect your business)
