    Helping other people in forums for free by providing them with useful advice, is one good method of getting new SEO freelance projects.
    Search around in forums like this search search optimization here at DigitalPoint, find someone that need help or has a difficult question about SEO, then provide useful advice without trying to sell them anything or directly promote yourself.
    • If they need further help or want someone to help them with additional problems, they will often ask you to work on an ongoing SEO project for their website.
    Another good option to consider is spending time to get your personal website ranked at the top of Google, to get good leads for people that want new SEO projects online.

    You can try to build a portfolio by doing some pro bono work. Use past clients to attract new ones.

    Personally I think the best way to get new SEO project is to position yourself in the TOP - 5 of Google and highlight your copys from competition, more than 6 years to work as SEO Freelance and this method is the best result I have been given until today.
