The problem with the domain names used for the sites on sale here, is that all of the details about the transaction, from the price, to any comments for, or against the site and indeed the entire thread on DP for the sale of the site, is available forevermore on Google if you search that domain name!

Therefore it is harder to be able to market the site with the same domain name with all of that info out for all to see.

I believe that the least that should be done, is to have the domain name of the sites for sale "broken up" so that the entire thread of the sale of the site does not show up later in a Google search!

If that's the case then how come in all the "buy" threads people have no hesitation in naming the sites they want to sell even though it's against forum rules? There must be some benefit to having them indexed!

The threads here include comments about the product for sale which are positive as well as negative.

These comments are not always justified.

So if the name of the product is indexed in the searchengines as displayed on the thread, then the comments will follow the product forever, even if they were not justified.

That is why the sellers may want to consider "breaking up" the domain names of the sites for sale.

Surely that is not a barrier to the sale of a site, but it can be a great help for the buyer in maintaining the site successfully, or to sell it on if that is his intention.
