    For web design, in order to test if it works well on all browsers there are several websites that allows you to check across all browsers and their versions. As for website performance you can go to W3C or you can check it yourself - page by page and posts by post.

    When it comes in Front-end or web design testing, the first thing that a tester should anticipate is that the display layout using different browsers like Firefox, Chrome, IE, Safari, etc. Tester must test if all feature/functionality are working properly in different browsers because there are some instances that it does not work.

    Usually, the performance of a website is related to Top page or Home page of website because it's the first thing to load when you visit a website. You can use GTMetrix to check your website performance.
