Question about Authority Sites

Here I found Gurus talking about 'authority sites' for link building. Can anyone name those sites also please guide me if I can place link for free on any of those sites?

Authority sites are the popular high ranked sites, like wikipedia, news sites, video sharing sites. and most of them have a no follow attribute on linking out and very hard to get links from.

The best way for you is to search in google for your keyword, find the top 10 sites and then try to figure out a way to get links from those sites.

 

While I agree with the first comment above, I have to warn you that it'd be difficult, if not impossible, to obtain backlinks from the top 10 sites ranking for your keyword. However, there are other ways you can obtain links from authority sites.

Search for keywords related to yours and take note of the sites that appear at the top for them. Make sure the keywords you are searching for are more competitive than the one you are trying to rank for.

Compile a list of the sites you took note of and visit them one by one to ascertain if they accept guest posts. Try submitting a few guest posts to them or reach out to them either to purchase links or to get a free link to your site. Try the free path first.

 

Of course, it's easy... those websites can't wait to find out about your site and place a link to you.

Dude, you need to create something special for them to mention you... it's like with people, I'm sure Bill Gates gets mentioned much more often than your name.

 

Authority website are websites who has good domain authority and page authority. The websites which have more than 40 domain authority and page authority are ranked in good authority websites. To get back link form these websites are very beneficial for us. So One of the best way to get the links form these websites are guest posts. First of all search the websites with your target keywords at ahrefs.com tool which will show you domain and page authority of the websites.

So choose the websites who has 40+ DA and PA, then contact them for guest posts. It is time consuming but if you get the back links from them at least one, that will be equal to your 100 low quality back links.

 

40+ domain authority doesn't always equate to authority sites. There are authority sites that have less than 40 (DA) and they are ranking well and getting lots of traffic from Google.

Also Ahrefs doesn't use DA and PA metrics. You have to use opensiteexplorer.org.

"those websites can't wait to find out about your site and place a link to you" -> that's not the case, most of these authority websites are more strict in placing other website's link. Gaining these kind of important links is not that easy as you say

 

Sorry dear, that was sarcasm... all he cares is a link from sites but OP doesn't care about why they should place a link to him in the first place.
