Contest $30 Logo Contest - Simple Elegant Design

Looking for a simple logo design to use for an application I am developing for a company. Their current logo is the following:



It's a logo that I actually did about 12/13 years ago when I had just started dabbling in the web industry.

I am looking for something professional, modern and simple that could be easily identifiable when seen.

I am currently just using the name of the company as text for the logo in the app (BlueMarine).
Font - Helvetica Neue
The word 'Blue' uses #428bca as its font color.
The word 'Marine' uses #777 as its font color.

The company itself is a transportation company (like a taxi service) that serves the maritime industry, so I was thinking maybe a little graphic that represents that, but not a requirement.

Overall I want something clean and modern with the words BlueMarine as the focal point.

Would like 2 variations of the logo.
1) The word BlueMarine will be the focal point, no need to include / have the acronym 'BMT'.
2) The letters BMT be the focal point with the name of the company 'Blue Marine Transportation' underneath.

One last little note, the shade of blue doesn't have to be the same as the shade I am currently using in the font, but it does have to look nice and clean.

Contest will last 72 hrs.
Payment will be made via PayPal as soon as final product is approved and delivered.

@vicky786: That looks great! I like the style, can we try it with 'Helvetica Neue' font? Also, can you show me something with the second required variation of the logo? Other than that, I like what I see.

@asjadshah91 I like it, very nice and clean, but for the graphic I am looking for something that incorporates a subtle wave element of some type to keep the essence of the original logo, similar to what vicky786 has done, simple, clean, not overwhelming and can stand on it's own if need be.

@wend666 There's too much going on with the graphic and it is not exactly what I am looking for. Please read comment above to give you an idea of the direction I am envisioning. Text and font look nice and clean.

@Mark Lancaster Glad to see that you incorporated a wave, but it's just too much. Again, looking for a subtle, clean graphic that could stand on it's own if need be.

@nayirpro I would prefer all text be in caps. I don't see a focal point, as the BMT and the words of the company are just about the same size, it should be one or the other that stands out. Also if you could incorporate a subtle graphic element that could be easily identifiable if seen.

@asjadshah91 The graphic reminds me of 'Beats by Dre'.

 

Strangest thing @logoesdesign. When I clicked to reply to your thread a second logo appeared, which doesn't appear or at least not visible to me, in your submission.

As far as your submission, I like the second one better than the first. But I am not a fan of bold text. Also I like the subtle graphic idea, but it is missing that element to where it would be something identifiable if it were alone.

 

@vicky786 I really like the first one. As far as the second one, I am not feeling that light blue hue. Anyway to see a BMT version with the first style? I am interested in seeing how that would look/work.

@vicky786 I was referring just adding the BMT text to the style of the first logo you submitted. Logo is going to have 2 versions: 1) The full name, 'BlueMarine Transportation', 2) BMT

As I had mentioned previously, it needs a focal point, so it can have both the 'BMT' and the 'Blue Marine Transportation' in large font.

 

@cosmin90 I do like the concept, although I believe that those graphics up top look more like a fin than waves.

***Note to all. I really like vicky786 's graphic in her first submission. That graphic by itself has the potential to standalone and symbolize something with no text needed, so that's the factor that I am looking for for the graphic.
