The post is really really useful. It is worth mentioning here that in the algorithm itself, there is no such thing as giving additional benefits to .gov or .edu domains. It is just the trust and authority of the organization that makes its domain with high PR.

Most of these will not be “do follow” links, but just the fact that you can get .gov and
    .edu links is very important.

I have personally posted blog comments on university and government websites regardless of do follow or no follow link back. Majority of my links have been indexed over the years. Yes, all no follow. You can get the website name out to anyone that reads the comment.

"For example: site:.edu internet marketing blog
The top result is a .edu blog that links to a non edu blog, but that blog is related and is
PR3 and has edu backlinks. That is also a great relevant place to comment, even if it is
not directly a .edu. On the other hand, the third result was a PR3 highly related .edu
internet marketing blog with zero comments. That is easy .edu backlinks!"

Found the .edu and .gov websites using your listed methods. The benefit of gaining a do follow link on university and government websites is obvious for my direct competitor to highly rank in search engines, pr6,7,8,9 and gain advertisement review. Obtaining a link from a website with multiple .edu and .gov websites if far easier and can be gust as beneficial.

    Thanks for the guidance.

These .edu and .gov links are high authority sites and I would suggest not to abused these kind of sites on the purpose on getting backlinks on it even it is not related to your website.

I was using a PBN and the results have been great. But everything I'm reading is that Google is cracking down on them. Mine hasn't been hit yet. Any thoughts on PBN'S ???
