Anyone Making a Killing with Adsense or Making a Substantial Amount of Money?

    Just wondering!

    Because......

Though I can put sites on the first page of Google (TOP 10), I find that I do alot better with Clickbank products or even with Amazon..

I'm guessing it must be because of the niches I build my sites around? Majority of them are in the Fitness and Weight Loss niche.

Anyone want to tell me what niches have the BEST payouts per click?

Going to give Adsense a shot...

    Thanks!

Define "substantial amount of money" :)

Adsense does best on sites with a high volume of traffic, while the exact niche does make a difference it's the volume that will get you the big bucks.

How about anywhere from $1000 to $3000 a month?

    :)

As Peter said it completely depends on the traffic that your site generates and the niche you are in. You might be aware that niches related to insurance, medicine etc. gets some huge rates per click compared to other niche. It all depends on the competition for the specific keywords that you are targeting on. There are people who are making some good money with Adsense but I would say online marketing is still the best.

Online Marketing should be ones main task and Google Adsense should be set to keep some regular income going.

    Cheers

Adsense is a waste. If you have a massive amount of traffic there are much better ways to monetize your site. I'll even say if you are making $100k a year with adsense you are absolutely leaving hundreds of thousands of dollars on the table by driving your traffic away from your site.

I think when it comes to PPC adsense is the highest paying you're gonna find. I've been moving away from Adsense myself...You're sitting back relying on Google and what their advertisers are wanting to payout per click. Not to mention how uptight they are...Some of my clickbank sites have also started performing better. Not to mention, 1 average Clickbank sale = a whole $hitload of Adsense clicks.

When I started IM, Adsense sites were all the rage. For the amount of time I put in and the reward I got back, I wish I would have been working on my list instead of Adsense.

I used to have some top ranked sites and now that I look back, I realize what a massive amount of money I left on the table. I could have replaced those ad slots with affiliate offers that pay $30-100+ per sale. And I have some sites that really made those kind of money per sale. But I should have focused much more on affiliate offers....

Adsense is only a filler for when you have no other better thing to offer. Besides, it is also counted by Google themselves as a slight negative to your ranking nowadays.

I don't know your site.. but think about it.. You spend all that time and money to get people to visit your site then you show them links to other web sites to make a few cents...

Do you really need to know my sites in order to elaborate on how I should steer away from adsense and go with something else to make some cash?

    Holla back!

    Thanks again!

Of course... I wouldn't want to say "You should directly sell hair care products" when your site is about Star Wars.

But Google doesn't serve ads based on the keywords in your website right?

For example, if I type in words like snowboarding or skiing into Google, then right afterwards browse to a financial website, I'm not going to see ads having to do with financial, I'm going to see ads that have to do with snowboarding and skiing right?

It seems to me keywords used to matter but I'm not sure they do now.

There is contextual ads and then there are re-targeting ads. Re-targeting ads serve ads on sites for visitors that recently visited web sites that are enrolled in Google's re-targeting network. Contextual ads serve ads that relate to the content of the page the visitor is on.

I completely disagree with you. I have multiple sites monetized with adsense. Some of them are getting 40k uniques per month and I get $1000+ from it. And that traffic is completely useless to monetize it with CPA offers, only ppc works with it.

BEST paying niches are LAW, MORTAGES, LOANS, MEDICINE. Enter "Mesothelioma" in Google Keywords tool and you will be shocked how much people are paying for 1 click ;)

One more thing to keep in mind, BEST paying niches has MOST competition.

If you're interested I have a blog http://LiveFromCloud.com and I will write about Adsense topic in near future, feel free to ask anything, I will try to cover it up.

Google doesn't show ads based on the keyword content of your website, it shows ads based on the users surfing habits or google searches.

From my post above "For example, if I type in words like snowboarding or skiing into Google, then right afterwards browse to a financial website, I'm not going to see ads having to do with financial, I'm going to see ads that have to do with snowboarding and skiing right?"
